ZEC privacy transaction generation time is expected to be reduced from 3 seconds to under 200 milliseconds.
Zcash’s development team has launched the open-source cryptographic toolkit Zakura Common, which cuts the time required for a wallet to generate a privacy transaction from over 3 seconds to under 200 milliseconds in some scenarios. According to Zakura, the new code delivers more than 14x faster processing on mobile devices, over 5x on desktops, over 21x faster hashing, and node verification of privacy transactions is 4 to 8x faster. The toolkit does not require an upgrade to the Zcash network, allowing wallet developers to adopt it directly. Zakura has integrated the new technology stack in its version 1.3.0, and Vizor Wallet is among the first wallets to use this technology.

Whale Tracking: Following oil prices' sharp rally, smart money is doubling down on extreme bets, still expecting crude oil to break $100 and taking 50x leveraged short positions on the S&P 500.
According to monitoring by TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight), as WTI crude oil rallied sharply overnight, Polymarket trader "tetrose" continued adding to its tail bets that WTI would hit $90, $95, and $100 before the end of August. Between 3:35 AM and 4:07 AM on August 31—during the crude oil rally—it completed six consecutive buy orders, adding roughly $3,182 in total. At execution, the implied market probabilities for the $90, $95, and $100 targets were approximately 3.63%, 1.50%, and 0.70% respectively; current probabilities stand at 4.5%, 1.6%, and 0.5%.
tetrose’s total cost for its three Yes positions is around $38,900, while their current value is only about $8,291, translating to an overall unrealized loss of roughly $30,600, or 78.7%. The $95 position alone has an unrealized loss of approximately $26,900.
Following the oil price rise, this morning, an address linked to tetrose took profit on 5,349.14 long Brent crude contracts, then placed a buy order for 3,618.13 contracts at $88.7, planning to re-open long positions if prices pull back, with a total value of about $320,900. The order was not filled due to crude oil’s continued rally and was canceled at 1:22 PM.
Meanwhile, its short S&P position opened on August 28 remains fully intact. The address is currently shorting 274.773 SP500 contracts with 50x full leverage, holding a position worth roughly $2.113 million, an average entry price of 7759.6 points, and an unrealized profit of around $19,200. It has set a take-profit order covering the entire position at 7600 points.
Historical records show "tetrose" has 274 settled positions tied to crude oil prices and geopolitical themes including Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, with 150 profitable and 124 losing trades, a win rate of about 54.7%, and cumulative net profit of approximately $641,900.

a16z: 94% of Argentine peso-denominated crypto transactions flow to stablecoins
a16z Crypto has released a report stating that roughly one-fifth of Argentina’s population uses cryptocurrency, with 94% of Argentine peso-denominated crypto transactions flowing to stablecoins — the highest share among major currencies tracked by Artemis. Despite Argentina’s recent declines in inflation and relaxed restrictions on dollar purchases, stablecoin usage has not faded significantly: the share of workers receiving salaries in stablecoins has stabilized, while downloads of the crypto wallet Lemon continue to rise. a16z Crypto notes that stablecoins may no longer merely act as an inflation hedge for Argentines, but are gradually becoming a common daily habit.

South Korea rolls out a national free AI program, with 512 B200 units as core support; Motif 3, billed as the "top Korean AI model" that failed to make the national AI team, still secures access to the initiative.
Insight Beating AI Flash News: South Korea is set to launch a test of a free national AI service starting in September. A consortium of SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao has won the bid, with the service officially launching by the end of the year. South Korean citizens will use it for free, with no token limits. The government will provide the three firms with a total of 512 Nvidia B200 GPUs this year. Based on estimates of 4 user queries per day and 500 tokens per response, this batch of GPUs can theoretically support around 18.4 million daily active users (DAUs). The government also mandates that at least half of the AI services be powered by South Korea’s domestic base models, with an additional minimum of 30% allocated to models from other South Korean companies. Motif 3, which was eliminated from South Korea’s "national team" selection process earlier, has now been included in both SK Telecom’s and KT’s model pools for this project. Motif 3 scored 47 points on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, the highest among all South Korean models that participated, yet was eliminated in the August 18 review for the "domestic base model national team". Ten days later, for the national AI project, both SK Telecom and KT added it to their model pools. Its exclusion from the "national team" does not prevent it from being used by users nationwide. South Korea currently has around 23 million generative AI users, most of whom still rely on overseas products like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. As such, this review did not prioritize model performance: service reach and user acquisition account for 50 points, while model quality, stability, and security combined make up only 30 points. The final winners are SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao, which control communications, portal, and super app entry points, while model firms mostly serve as back-end suppliers.
