MetaMask Multichain Account Support

2025.10.28 10:24:16

On October 28th, MetaMask tweeted that it has initiated the provision of support for multi-chain accounts. Furthermore, the asset loading speed for users has been enhanced by a factor of 30. MetaMask initially was a wallet that solely supported the Ethereum network. Gradually over time, support has been added incrementally for Ethereum Layer 2 solutions (such as Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, etc.) and other networks compatible with the EVM; through the Snap plugin system, the wallet is capable of connecting to non-EVM networks. Today, due to architectural advancements, MetaMask now natively supports non-EVM networks like the Solana network and intends to shortly support networks like Bitcoin.

Kraken Discloses: 56 Million Crypto Tax Forms to Be Filed by 2025, Over One-Third for Amounts Below $1

April 22nd — Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced it has filed roughly 56 million cryptocurrency transaction reports for the 2025 tax year with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Of those reports: - About 18.5 million transactions involve amounts under $1; - Over 74% of transactions are for less than $50; - Only roughly 8.5% exceed the $600 reporting threshold. Kraken noted the U.S. tax system lacks a "de minimis" rule for crypto payments, forcing users to calculate costs and gains for every transaction—even small daily purchases made with Bitcoin—creating a heavy compliance burden. Additionally, staking rewards are taxed as income when received, which can lead to "book income exceeding actual asset value" during price fluctuations. The exchange estimates active crypto users spend an extra $250 to $500 annually on tax software for related reporting. Kraken is calling on U.S. Congress to advance a broader de minimis policy (tied to inflation) and let users choos

Trump Family's American Bitcoin Scaling: Added 11,000 Mining Machines, Total Hash Rate Reaches 28.1 EH/s

April 22 — American Bitcoin, the Trump family’s mining firm, announced it has completed grid connection for roughly 11,298 ASIC miners, further advancing its expansion plan and boosting overall mining capacity. Data shows the expansion has pushed the company’s total self-owned hash rate to approximately 28.1 EH/s, a roughly 12% jump from pre-expansion levels. Total miner count now stands at around 89,242, with the newly added hash rate hitting ~3.05 EH/s and an energy efficiency of ~13.5 J/TH. On the operational front, ~58,999 miners are currently active, corresponding to a hash rate of ~25.0 EH/s and an average energy efficiency of ~14.1 J/TH. The firm noted this round of expansion will strengthen its structural advantage in Bitcoin accumulation.

Israeli Envoy to Meet Again in Washington as Lebanon Pushes for Extended Ceasefire Agreement

April 22 — Lebanese and Israeli envoys will hold a second round of talks in Washington, D.C., this Thursday (within two weeks of the first round) to focus on extending an expiring 10-day temporary ceasefire. The Trump administration-mediated agreement is currently under pressure amid frequent clashes and mutual accusations of violations. The Lebanese side has stated extending the ceasefire is a prerequisite for advancing further negotiations, and hopes to use the opportunity to push for key demands: an Israeli withdrawal, release of detainees, and border demarcation. Meanwhile, Hezbollah and Israel continue clashing, ramping up already high tensions along the border. Analysts note this round of talks — a key link connecting multiple Middle East diplomatic fronts — will not only impact the Lebanese-Israeli border situation but also test U.S. mediation capabilities in regional conflicts. Amid heavy conflict casualties and ongoing disputes over the border “buffer zone,” the ceasefir

The US Military Introduces Ukrainian Anti-Drone System at Saudi Base, Frontline Combat Technology Exposes Air Defense Vulnerabilities

**April 22** — U.S. forces have deployed Ukraine’s Sky Map anti-drone command system at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base, with Ukrainian personnel providing on-site training, Reuters reported citing sources familiar with the matter. The system, widely fielded in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, integrates radar and multi-source sensor data to detect, identify, and intercept incoming drones. The base has faced multiple drone and missile attacks since the conflict began, causing equipment damage and casualties — underscoring gaps in U.S. ability to counter low-cost drone threats. Adopting Ukrainian combat technology is seen as an effort by the U.S. military to accelerate closing anti-drone capability gaps. Analysts note that as drones grow increasingly widespread in modern warfare, traditional air defense systems face structural challenges, and no universal solution yet exists to comprehensively counter all threat types.

Iran Seizes Two Vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, Escalating Middle East Tensions and Driving Up Oil Prices

**April 22: Iranian Navy Seizes Two Container Ships in Strait of Hormuz** The Iranian Navy seized two container ships in the key Strait of Hormuz shipping lane on Monday, April 22, citing alleged violations of maritime regulations. The vessels have been transferred to the Iranian coast, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) involved in the operation. Separately, UK Maritime Trade Operations had previously warned of potential ship attacks in the area. The incident unfolds amid heightened US-Iran tensions: Former President Trump extended a ceasefire window to facilitate negotiations, but subsequent reports indicate a new round of talks has been postponed—with signals from Iran suggesting it may not participate in further discussions. Geopolitical risks sent international oil prices soaring immediately: Brent crude briefly topped $100 per barrel. Analysts note the Strait of Hormuz handles roughly 20% of global energy shipments, so any disruption risks cascading

Iranian Media Warns of Risks to Hormuz Strait Submarine Cable

On Wednesday, April 22, Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency again warned that Gulf Arab states still face the risk of undersea data cable cuts in the Strait of Hormuz. Fars reported that if multiple major cables are damaged simultaneously—whether by accident or sabotage—it could trigger severe internet outages across the Persian Gulf. Several undersea cables run through the Strait of Hormuz. The Gulf region has seen past internet blackouts from multiple Red Sea undersea cable cuts, and Yemen’s Houthi group has previously threatened those cables. (FXStreet)
