Elon Musk, who rarely deletes posts, has removed his post campaigning for the Republican Party.

Multiple major U.S. media outlets projected that the Democratic Party secured a landslide victory in the U.S. midterm elections held on the 3rd, regaining control of both the Senate and House of Representatives. Elon Musk, who spent hundreds of millions of dollars backing Republican candidates, quietly deleted a campaign post after the polls closed. In a November 4 report, The Washington Post noted that on Election Day, Musk posted on social platform X urging voters to "Vote red today!" But by local time November 4, the post had been removed from his account. Earlier reports indicated Musk’s spending in this midterm election hit $474 million, setting a historical record for political expenditure by a non-candidate donor in a single election cycle. He not only used X to campaign for Republicans but also repeatedly attacked Democratic candidates publicly. However, the election outcome did not align with Musk’s expectations. (Global Times)

Analysis: From 2027 to 2028, actual orders for storage chips will far outstrip supply capacity, and the impact of Democratic Party policies is unlikely to alter the supply-demand pattern.

South Korean securities firm Meritz Securities pointed out that memory chip makers currently have far more 2027-2028 orders than their production capacity. Even if the U.S. Democratic Party gains an upper hand in the midterm elections, leading to delays or adjustments in some data center projects, it will not fundamentally reverse the memory chip supply shortage. Meritz noted that this year, memory chip order fulfillment rates (the ratio of available supply capacity to order volume) have stayed at a low 80% to 85%, driving sharp increases in memory chip prices. It forecasts the supply-demand gap will further widen by 2027, with the order fulfillment rate possibly dropping to around 80%. Separately, during OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s recent visit to South Korea, he requested custom storage products including HBM from SK hynix and Samsung Electronics for 2027-2030, with demand even exceeding the two firms’ available supply capacity. Community user Teng Yan added that Samsung stated in an October 29 conference call with Meritz that it has signed multi-year storage supply agreements with 10 major clients, while an equal number of clients are in negotiations. Storage demand has also expanded beyond cloud service giants and AI server manufacturers to more sectors. As such, the slowdown in U.S. data center approvals will only impact a portion of orders and is unlikely to alter the overall tight supply-demand landscape.

Meta acquires Conductor: Cloud-based version to be shut down on November 20, original product to be phased out next year.

Beating AI Express News: Meta has acquired AI coding tool Conductor. Founder Charlie Holtz announced the team will join Meta’s Superintelligence Lab (MSL) to develop new products alongside Nat Friedman and Alexandr Wang. Conductor is a tool for managing multiple coding agents simultaneously, supporting Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode. It assigns tasks to different agents, enabling them to work in parallel on separate code branches. Developers can track progress, review code changes, and merge results all within a single interface. Launched in July 2025, Conductor secured a $22 million Series A funding round just this past March. Its official website notes it has over 100,000 active developers. However, the acquisition means the original Conductor service is being phased out: new user registrations and downloads will stop on November 4. The cloud version will switch to read-only access on November 13, fully shut down on November 20, and cloud user data will be deleted at that time. The local version will remain usable temporarily, but will also be phased out starting in early 2027. Holtz added that the team plans to launch a new developer tool interface early next year. Some community users have expressed disappointment over the shutdown, with many already seeking alternative tools, while others are calling for Conductor to be open-sourced.
