Polygon community proposes hard fork to recover around 70.49 million stolen POL tokens

According to the Polygon community forum, the community has submitted a PIP proposal, which plans to conduct a coordinated hard fork to wipe out approximately 70.49 million native POL tokens from compromised attack addresses and transfer them to designated victim recovery addresses, covering stolen funds from two security incidents involving Polymarket and Binance. The proposal notes that between October 29 and 30, Polymarket and Binance successively suffered security breaches, with stolen native POL flowing into Polygon PoS attack addresses. At the request of relevant parties, block validators have added these addresses to the Bor transaction blacklist. Currently, five attacker-controlled addresses hold a total of ~70.49 million POL: ~23.86 million (across 4 addresses) related to Polymarket, and ~46.63 million (1 address) related to Binance. The blacklist only prevents outbound fund transfers, not asset recovery, and attackers are still attempting to bypass it. The proposal requires zeroing the native POL balances of the listed addresses at a fixed block, while crediting verified recovery addresses with an equal amount: Polymarket’s address is 0x3dcE0a2....a6440b4D952, Binance’s is 0xd9fd391....610b80. Total supply remains unchanged, limited only to the native POL in question. Proposed by Polymarket and Binance, the proposal will be presented at the Polygon protocol governance meeting at 14:30 UTC on November 5. If approved, client development and Amoy testing are expected to wrap up in about two weeks. The proposal emphasizes this is an extreme measure and should not serve as a precedent for normal operations.

Digital Chamber of Commerce: Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown’s election win is the "most significant adverse outcome" for crypto.

According to The Block, U.S. crypto lobbying group Digital Chamber has labeled the victory of Democrat Sherrod Brown in Ohio’s Senate election as the “most consequential unfavorable result for the crypto industry.” The group noted that Brown’s policy priorities on financial stability, consumer protection, bank regulation, and combating illicit finance could influence the Democratic Party’s overall stance and policy direction on crypto assets. Brown previously served as chair of the Senate Banking Committee, taking a cautious approach to digital asset legislation and regulation while stressing risks related to illicit finance. During the recent midterm elections, crypto-focused political action committees (PACs) poured substantial funds into efforts to block his return to the Senate, but were unsuccessful. Digital Chamber’s latest comments further underscore the crypto industry’s concerns over a tightening regulatory environment following shifts in Congress’s makeup.

Keling 4.0 Flash is fully open: generates videos up to 20 seconds long, and supports Agents and Adobe plugins.

Beating AI Express: Kuaishou’s Kling AI has announced that Kling 4.0 Flash is now available to all users. The full version of Kling 4.0 was previously fully launched, but the Flash variant—focused on fast, low-cost video generation—had been exclusive to Black Gold annual card members since September 28. Flash retains core capabilities including text-to-video, image-to-video, and multi-material reference generation, though it makes trade-offs in video specifications and control precision. It generates a maximum 20-second, 720p video per run, while the full version supports up to 30-second, higher-resolution videos and enables scene change control via multiple keyframes. Flash currently lacks support for start/end frame or multi-keyframe control. Developers can now integrate this lightweight model into AI Agents via API, MCP, and CLI for automated, bulk video generation. Kling also offers an Adobe plugin, allowing creators to call the model directly in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects without frequent switching between creation tools.

FERC approves crypto miner MARA's acquisition of the Long Ridge natural gas power plant.

According to a post by Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved Bitcoin miner MARA Holdings’ (MARA) acquisition of Long Ridge natural gas power assets (Case No. EC26-92). Sigel noted that objections raised by the Market Monitoring Unit (IMM) related to BlackRock and Vanguard were rejected, and FERC also refused to condition the approval on keeping the power plant’s output in the PJM grid. Per his breakdown, the deal’s enterprise value is approximately $1.512 billion, corresponding to ~0.5 GW of natural gas generation capacity (485 MW approved output, 505 MW nameplate capacity) and ~$144 million in annual adjusted EBITDA, translating to a valuation of around 10.5x. Recent PJM gas power plant transactions are valued at roughly 7x, putting the core plant assets at ~$1 billion; MARA’s ~$500 million overpayment covers land, gas wells, rail assets, and expansion options. MARA will retain approximately $900 million in Long Ridge’s debt, and needs ~$610 million in cash, which it plans to cover with a ~$600 million Bitcoin-backed loan drawn in August. The deal’s external deadline is November 30. Sigel pointed out that MARA has referenced a total AI load of ~600 MW at the site, including ~200 MW of existing grid-connected load. It remains unclear whether the expansion will proceed via a Starwood joint venture and whether MARA can retain up to a 50% stake. The next key catalyst is likely the signing of a lease around the deal’s closing.

Google’s November security bulletin patched over 200 vulnerabilities, including a critical zero-click remote code execution flaw, urging Android users to upgrade as soon as possible.

Google recently released the November 2026 Android Security Bulletin, patching over 200 total vulnerabilities. The most severe flaw is CVE-2026-58868, a critical-severity heap buffer overflow leading to out-of-bounds write in the Framework component, specifically in the onOutputReceived function of FrameDecoder.cpp. This zero-click vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code remotely without user interaction or additional permissions, potentially granting full control over affected devices. Google has not confirmed in-the-wild exploitation of the flaw, nor has a public proof-of-concept (PoC) been disclosed. Affected Android versions include 14, 15, 16, 16 QPR2, and 17. Patches are rolled out in two tiers: - Security Patch Level ≥ 2026-11-01: includes fixes for Framework and System components such as CVE-2026-58868; - Security Patch Level ≥ 2026-11-05: covers all vulnerabilities in this update, including kernel and chipset issues from vendors like MediaTek and Qualcomm. SlowMist CISO 23pds noted that if this vulnerability is exploited in the wild, the impact will be extremely severe. Android devices account for roughly 70% of global smartphones, so large-scale exploitation could lead to widespread device compromise. Users are advised to immediately check and upgrade their systems: navigate to Settings → About Phone → Android Version to confirm the Security Patch Level is at 2026-11-05 or higher. Rollout times may vary across device manufacturers, so users are recommended to prioritize upgrading to the full patch level.
