SlowMist's Yu Xian: The Binance hack incident involves an advanced persistent threat (APT) attack, and individuals and enterprises should check for poisoning risks.

SlowMist founder Yu Xian published an article noting that Binance’s disclosed hack process was an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attack, which should not be viewed merely as a result of engineer operational errors or excessive permissions. He explained that such attacks may span multiple stages including intelligence reconnaissance, social engineering, malicious code evasion, trust chain exploitation, lateral poisoning, cloud environment penetration, and risk control circumvention, and may also leverage zero-day vulnerabilities. Yu Xian reminded individuals and enterprises to use this incident to assess whether themselves, colleagues, and employees are vulnerable to similar poisoning attacks, and to enhance their defenses. The initial social engineering is just one component of the attack chain; seemingly simple tactics can trigger severe consequences in specific contexts.

Three key members of Claude Code have left in the past two weeks, including product lead Cat Wu.

Beating AI News: Multiple members of Anthropic’s Claude Code team have recently resigned in succession. On November 4, Cat Wu, product lead for Claude Code and Cowork, announced her departure from Anthropic. Earlier, engineers Thariq Shihipar and Anthony Morris, developer of Claude Code’s desktop version, had already announced their exit publicly on October 24. When Thariq left, he specifically recommended following Cat Wu to stay updated on Claude Code’s future developments. Unexpectedly, just 11 days later, Cat also announced her resignation. Cat had actually left Anthropic once before: in July 2025, she and Boris Cherny, creator of Claude Code, both moved to Cursor, only to return together two weeks later. This July, Jenny Wen, design lead for Claude and Cowork, also joined Cursor as design director. Still, Anthropic as a whole is expanding rapidly. Its public filing shows its headcount rose from roughly 940 at the end of 2024 to about 5,300 by the end of September this year. Over the past 12 months, the company disclosed a “regret turnover rate” of around 1%, referring to the share of employees who resigned voluntarily but whom the company sought to retain.
