CoinDCX issues renewed response on $15.8 million in missing user deposits: old addresses were previously abandoned, operational losses will be covered by the platform.

Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX has released a new statement addressing on-chain disputes over deposit address TQKJQ, noting that following the July 2025 security incident, previously generated related addresses were hacked and deprecated. The platform had previously alerted users not to send funds to these addresses and to only use the latest addresses on its app or official website. Despite this, some users continued transferring funds to the deprecated addresses. CoinDCX had a standard fund-scanning process to collect and secure such deposits, but the process failed during a certain period; the issue was identified this morning, and the resulting operational losses will be fully covered by CoinDCX. The exchange added that even if deposits were sent to deprecated addresses, users’ crypto funds have all been credited, and user assets remain held in isolated cold wallets. Neither the platform’s current centralized addresses nor user addresses were compromised, and platform funds in active wallets were not stolen, with trading and platform operations continuing as normal. Earlier, on-chain investigator ZachXBT had alleged that deposit address TQKJQ remained in use for roughly 10 months after the security incident, leaving around $15.8 million in user funds unaccounted for.

US initial jobless claims near 57-year low, strong domestic demand drives profit growth.

Last week, the number of new US jobless claims fell to its lowest level in nearly 57 years, with layoffs easing and the labor market stabilizing. Data from the US Department of Labor shows that for the week ending October 17, initial state unemployment benefit claims dropped by 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 194,000. This figure is approaching the 189,000 level hit in mid-July, marking the lowest since 1969. Economists believe that strong US domestic demand has driven rising profits, shielding workers from layoffs. However, as the conflict between the US, Israel and Iran intensifies, tighter financial conditions and rising interest rates may weigh on the labor market’s performance next year.
