Beating AI Express: MiniMax officially launches M3.1 Flash, confirming that the previously viral anonymous model Space Bunny is its early version. Space Bunny launched on OpenRouter and OpenCode in late September, with total calls exceeding 200 trillion tokens and once topping the daily call charts on both platforms. MiniMax rolled out M3.1 Flash Preview on September 27, and has now officially released full benchmark results and API pricing. In MiniMax’s published tests, M3.1 Flash scored 62.2% on the office automation benchmark Automation-Bench, outperforming DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (60.5%) and Opus 5 (50.3%). It notched 73.7% on the DeepSWE programming test, close to Opus 5’s 74.0%; its visual reasoning score on BabyVision hit 91.0%. However, its 61.7% on the computer operation test OSWorld still lags behind Opus 5’s 70.6%. Pricing is a key highlight: the API charges $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.60 per million output tokens, and just $0.015 for cached reads. MiniMax states that compared to M3, the new model’s overall cost is reduced to roughly one-third, while its speed is tripled. The model supports a million-token context window, with weights scheduled to open on October 23.

Metaplanet secures approval to take a controlling stake in NASDAQ-listed firm SLE, successfully establishing its U.S. listing footprint.

Metaplanet Founder and CEO Simon Gerovich announced that the transaction between Metaplanet and U.S.-based Super League Enterprise, Inc. (Nasdaq ticker: SLE) has been formally approved at SLE’s general shareholder meeting. This marks a critical step for Metaplanet’s transition from a Bitcoin treasury company to a global Bitcoin-native financial platform. Per details, Metaplanet injected 2,100 Bitcoin and $2.5 million in cash into Nasdaq-listed Super League Enterprise (SLE), with a total value of approximately $134.6 million, in exchange for a controlling stake. In return, Metaplanet received around 44.86 million newly issued common shares of SLE (priced at $3 per share), plus preferred stock and warrants. Upon completion of the deal, Metaplanet will hold roughly 95.7% of SLE’s outstanding common shares, becoming its controlling shareholder. According to Gerovich, post-transaction, Superplanet will act as Metaplanet’s U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform, allowing it to directly access U.S. capital markets and secure more agile, flexible financing capabilities. Strategically, paired with Metaplanet Securities (established in Japan), the approval will give the company complementary platforms in the world’s two most important capital markets: the U.S. and Japan. This will not only support its international financing and capital allocation, but also further drive its business expansion in sectors including Bitcoin treasury, financial services, financial products, and asset management. Gerovich noted that this is a new milestone in Metaplanet’s long-term growth journey, and the company will continue to provide updates on the transaction’s closing progress going forward.
