Glassnode: Crypto market sellers have surrendered again, potentially signaling a stage bottom for the market.

Glassnode shared data on social media that during yesterday’s BTC price decline, seller capitulation reemerged. Each wave of loss-driven sell-offs aligned perfectly with local bottoms: early August, mid-August, and mid-September. Profit-taking has slowed since the September peak. If this pattern holds, the sell-off that occurred slightly above $80,000 yesterday would signal the bottom.

Circle: First-half revenue hits $1.4 billion, with nearly 60% going toward partner and transaction costs.

On October 16, Circle released an announcement stating that in the first half of 2026, USDC on-chain settlement volume exceeded $36 trillion, with Circle minting and redeeming over $315 billion worth of USDC during the same period, averaging around $1.7 billion per day. The company said that as of June, USDC accounted for approximately 77% of global stablecoin trading volume, up from 60% a year prior. What drew more market attention was USDC’s revenue allocation. Circle disclosed that the company generated roughly $1.4 billion in revenue in the first half, of which about $819 million went to USDC distribution partners and transaction costs, accounting for around 59% of total revenue; another $473 million was allocated to licenses, banking partnerships, settlement liquidity, compliance frameworks, product development, and multi-chain deployments, making up roughly 34%. Per the announcement’s metrics, Circle retains only about 7 cents in net profit for every $1 of revenue it earns. The announcement appears to be a response to market skepticism over “stablecoin issuers hoarding reserve profits”. Circle stated that partners can share corresponding reserve earnings by holding and growing USDC balances on their platforms; more than 150 exchanges, wallets, banks, fintech firms, payment platforms, and enterprises have now formed economic ties tied to USDC’s growth. Circle also noted that Binance signed a five-year commercial agreement with it in September and invested $100 million in the company. On the product front, Circle announced an expansion of its free redemption mechanism: all Circle customers can still redeem USDC for free via traditional banking channels, with funds typically arriving in no more than two business days; eligible customers making payments through the Circle Payments Network or using products like Arc, Circle Mint, and Circle Wallets will gain access to free, near-real-time redemption capabilities.

Bank of America warns: AI investment boom is showing signs of classic capital cycle risks.

A US bank warns that the AI investment boom is exhibiting signs of classic capital cycle risks: surging spending, intensifying competition, and falling prices. Capital expenditure expectations for large-scale cloud providers have jumped from $330 billion to $1 trillion, roughly equivalent to 3% of U.S. GDP. Meanwhile, AI token prices have dropped approximately 50% since summer, and growth in usage may not translate to sufficient revenue. The key risk is that AI technology could succeed, yet investors will be harmed by overinvestment and declining returns.

Strategy plans to switch STRC to daily dividend payouts, with its annualized dividend rate remaining at 12% in November.

Strategy announced that its variable-rate Series A perpetual preferred stock (STRC) has conditionally declared daily dividends for the period November 1 to November 30, 2026, with the annualized regular dividend rate remaining at 12.00%. The arrangement is contingent on Strategy shareholders’ approval of the daily dividend amendment at its special general meeting on October 28, as well as the completion and entry into force of the relevant preferred stock term revisions. If the conditions are met, STRC will use calendar days as dividend record dates starting November 1, including weekends and U.S. public holidays; corresponding dividends will be paid on the next business day following the applicable record date. This adjustment will change STRC’s cash flow rhythm. The product currently operates on a twice-monthly dividend distribution mechanism; going forward, holders will receive more frequent, smaller individual dividend payments. Strategy stressed that the adjustment will not alter the annualized dividend rate or total annual dividend amount. Should the amendment fail to pass, STRC will continue its existing semi-monthly dividend distribution schedule. Per the proposed terms, the 12% rate will apply to the entire month of November; thereafter, STRC’s applicable dividend rate will be determined monthly, with the company required to announce the next month’s rate by the 15th day of the preceding month.

Bank of America: US stocks attracted $39 billion in capital in a single week, but its strategist team remains "risk-averse".

A new Bank of America report shows U.S. stock funds recorded another $39 billion in weekly inflows, putting the annualized inflow on track to reach $636 billion this year, a record high. U.S. Treasuries have logged inflows for 16 consecutive weeks, the longest stretch since August 2024. However, Bank of America’s strategy team led by Michael Hartnett remains "risk-averse", citing rising real yields, price movements in AI and bank stocks, and potential volatility from the midterm elections. EPFR data indicates global stock funds drew around $64.5 billion in inflows in the week ended October 14. U.S. large-cap stocks saw $32.5 billion in inflows, while growth, value, and small-cap stocks posted inflows of $1.6 billion, $1.2 billion, and $1.1 billion respectively. Tech stocks led with $10.7 billion in inflows, while financial and consumer stocks saw outflows of $1.4 billion and $0.6 billion respectively. Emerging markets recorded $17.7 billion in inflows, Japan drew $0.4 billion, and Europe saw outflows of $1.5 billion. Safe-haven assets were also popular: U.S. Treasuries drew $3.6 billion in inflows, investment-grade bonds $3.5 billion, municipal bonds $4.5 billion, and emerging market bonds $0.8 billion. High-yield bonds saw outflows of $0.9 billion for the third straight week. Cash funds saw outflows of $53.1 billion, gold drew only $0.1 billion in inflows, cryptocurrencies saw outflows of around $0.6 billion, and bond funds as a whole posted $11.8 billion in inflows. The fund flows stand in contrast to the cautious stance of Bank of America’s strategists.
