Ripple enters leveraged stock financing via its acquisition of Hidden Road, and begins earning Wall Street-style brokerage fees.

Ripple is providing financing for leveraged equity ETFs via its subsidiary Ripple Prime, earning financing fees from related transactions as it enters a business segment long dominated by large Wall Street banks and securities firms. Ripple acquired multi-asset prime broker Hidden Road for $1.25 billion in 2025, gaining capabilities in trade clearing, financing investment positions, and handling transactions in stocks, bonds, foreign exchange, and digital assets. Now, Ripple Prime is offering funds leveraged exposure to stocks and indices through Total Return Swaps, allowing funds to amplify the daily price movements of individual stocks like NVIDIA and SanDisk, while Ripple collects financing fees from these deals. For example, the Tradr 2X Long SNDK Daily ETF pays Ripple an overnight bank financing rate plus 4 percentage points; at current rates, the annualized financing cost is roughly 8%. There are currently 593 leveraged ETFs in the U.S. market, with assets under management exceeding $256 billion. CoinDesk points out that as bank capital and risk regulatory requirements tighten, non-bank institutions including Ripple Prime, Jane Street, and Clear Street are gaining more opportunities to enter this market.

Google launches cross-vendor AI watermark detection, enabling checks for ChatGPT-generated images too.

Insight Beating AI Flash News: Google has opened its SynthID Detector to the global public. This web tool checks for invisible watermarks embedded by AI in images, videos, and audio. Previously tested primarily for media professionals, the detector now supports watermark recognition from OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Kakao, with Apple’s watermarks set to be added soon. OpenAI started integrating SynthID into generated images as early as May this year, and expanded the feature to select audio content in July. Google’s earlier detection tool only worked for its own watermarks, but users can now check content from multiple vendors via the same entry. Google notes that SynthID has already watermarked over 180 billion images and videos, with audio content totaling an equivalent of 240,000 years in duration. The new website requires user login, with each individual granted roughly 10 detection attempts per day. It should be noted that this tool only detects SynthID watermarks and cannot identify all AI-generated content. The absence of a detected watermark does not prove content is authentically captured or human-made, and content from AI models not using this watermark may remain completely undetectable. Moscow Exchange plans to offer cryptocurrency trading services starting December 1.

According to TASS, the Moscow Exchange plans to launch cryptocurrency trading services under the new regulatory framework starting December 1, and will continue conducting relevant tests ahead of the official rollout. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law No. 282-FZ, the Law on Digital Currencies and Digital Rights, on August 4, 2026. The law’s main provisions took effect on September 1, classifying cryptocurrency as property rather than a means of payment, while domestic payments using crypto remain prohibited. Crypto trading and purchases must be conducted via exchanges, brokers, crypto exchangers, or digital depositories licensed by the central bank. Non-qualified investors must first pass a test, with an annual purchase cap of 300,000 rubles per single intermediary; tradable assets are in principle limited to BTC, ETH, and USDT, while qualified investors face no amount restrictions. The transition period for licensing requirements runs until July 1, 2027. Earlier, the Moscow Exchange stated it is technically capable of settling related transactions in rubles or dollar-like currencies under unified clearing.

Liquid AI has open-sourced the weights of two small decision-making models: the 3B parameter version delivers answers in 8 milliseconds.

Beating AI Express: After releasing its cloud-based decision-making model d1 earlier, Liquid AI has opened the weights of two smaller decision models: d1-3B and the experimental d1-omni-600M. The two models have approximately 3.1 billion and 600 million parameters respectively, enabling developers to download, fine-tune, and deploy them on local devices. The cloud-based d1, which previously scored 58.9 in comprehensive evaluations, remains weight-locked. The d1-3B supports text and image inputs, capable of judging content compliance, selecting tools for agents, or making judgments based on visuals. In Decision Index v0.2.1 benchmarks, the official self-test scored 48.57 points, outperforming Decider 35B-A3B (47.11 points) — a model with roughly 12 times its total parameters. On an RTX 4090, it takes just 8 milliseconds to answer a single short question; even on NVIDIA’s small AI computer for robots, inference takes only 50 milliseconds. Processing long texts or images, however, will result in longer latency. The experimental d1-omni-600M has around 600 million parameters and supports direct intent recognition of voice commands, eliminating the need for prior text conversion. It is better suited for small devices with limited resources but is still in early development. In the Decision Index text decision benchmark, it scored just 15.95 points. The official has not yet released the model’s inference speed or independent visual and speech evaluation results. Weights for both models are now available on Hugging Face. However, they are governed by the LFM Open License v1.0, which carries commercial use restrictions. Enterprises with annual revenue of $10 million or more must obtain separate authorization for commercial applications.
