South Korea’s five major commercial banks have all faced hacker attacks or intrusion attempts, with three suffering customer data leaks. Around 25,000 Shinhan Bank customers, over 100 KB Kookmin Bank customers, and 89 Hana Bank customers had their information exposed. Woori Bank and NH Nonghyup Bank successfully blocked unauthorized system access, with no personal data leaks.
