DeepSeek Harness desktop client officially released, with Mac and Windows versions available out of the box.

DeepSeek has officially launched the Harness v0.2 preview, with desktop downloads available for macOS and Windows. Installation packages that were previously hosted on official servers now have an official website entry; after downloading and installing, users can log in directly with their DeepSeek account or use an API Key. The new version focuses on improving the daily desktop user experience. Harness can now directly process documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs, generate charts and presentations, edit projects, and run code. File changes, code modifications, and Agent execution processes are all centralized in the chat interface and sidebar. Scheduled tasks have also been added, enabling automated execution of repetitive work on a set schedule. Plugins have evolved from an experimental capability to an official product feature. No command line is required: users can install, disable, and uninstall plugins simply by entering npm package names in the plugin management page. The experimental Creative Mode also allows Harness to write its own plugins, which can be loaded and used immediately. DeepSeek noted that approximately 60% of Harness users currently utilize third-party plugins. The team also unveiled its roadmap for the first time, covering long-term memory, browser and other GUI software automation, remote and mobile use, multi-user collaboration, and Agent Teams. According to metrics from its official model API users, DeepSeek said Harness has become its Coding Agent product with the highest daily active users and average daily sessions. Eligible users can claim a limited-time 6-yuan experience credit when logging into the desktop app for the first time.
