CME Group to Launch BCH and Uniswap Futures to Expand Crypto Derivatives Portfolio

The People's Bank of China (PBoC) today reaffirmed during financial education and publicity efforts that virtual currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether have no legal tender status and cannot circulate as currency. Conducting virtual currency-related business within China constitutes illegal financial activities and is strictly prohibited in all cases. The PBoC stated that without approval from relevant authorities, domestic entities and their controlled overseas entities may not issue virtual currencies overseas, and no domestic or foreign entities or individuals may issue RMB-pegged stablecoins overseas. The PBoC reminds the public not to engage in virtual currency issuance, trading, investment, and mining activities, to beware of high-yield investment scams, and to avoid renting out bank cards, payment accounts, or participating in virtual currency-related activities. In addition, the PBoC warns against virtual currency investment products and trading platforms that claim "guaranteed returns" or "high interest rates"; advises against participating in virtual currency issuance, trading, investment, "mining" and other activities; warns against joining communities promoting virtual currencies, clicking on links to overseas virtual currency trading platforms, or downloading related apps; prohibits lending or renting out bank cards or payment accounts, following others' instructions to buy or sell virtual currencies for "pass-through transactions", or acting as "runners", "coin dealers", or "U dealers"; and urges anyone who discovers clues about virtual currency-related business activities to promptly report them to relevant regulatory authorities.

Stablecoin payment platform Infini has announced the completion of a $6 million seed funding round, with participation from investors including SNZ, Reforge, Enlight Capital, Nordic Digital Ventures, Fortwest, and Vernal. The capital will be deployed to expand its global payment network, support additional markets, currencies, and payment methods, as well as enhance compliance, licensing, and risk control measures. According to HTX market data, news that CME Futures has listed UNI and BCH as trading products continues to spread. UNI and BCH both rose by over 10%, with UNI surging 11% and BCH jumping nearly 20%.

In Kalshi's Ethereum perpetual futures trading between September 17 and 20, orders with a near-$5,499 single transaction amount generated $7.7 million in turnover, accounting for 57% of the analyzed trading volume. Among the 46 sampled dates since June, 43 saw repeated fixed-amount transactions. Kalshi’s public data does not disclose trader identities, and the exchange has not explained the parties behind these repeated transactions or the reasons for changes in the target amount. Earlier, quantitative analyst Beni published an article questioning prediction market platform Kalshi for artificially inflating crypto trading volume, citing multiple data points as evidence.
