Zhipu ZCode responds to full repository upload incident: Default-enabled Repo Wiki caused the problem, and the team promises to open-source its client.

Dongcha Beating AI News Flash: Zhipu responds to the ZCode repository data upload controversy, stating the issue originated from the Repo Wiki feature in its codebase index. When generating Wiki pages, Repo Wiki may upload repository data to the cloud; after page creation, the relevant data is immediately destroyed and not stored. The official noted that this feature was enabled by default during its initial launch, affecting some users, and the problem has now been fixed. ZCode’s official documentation now clearly specifies that Repo Wiki does not read .git, dependency directories, build artifacts, or caches, and only sends filtered code content as needed. Earlier, the community discovered via reverse engineering that ZCode would take project snapshots in the background, potentially even packaging and uploading .git, Git history, and LFS caches. ZCode also announced that it will open-source its code soon, and invited third-party evaluators to review the system’s operations, with review progress to be disclosed publicly later. As compensation, all users will receive an additional weekly quota reset, which will be distributed today.

Kimi Code Desktop Version Launches: Browser, Terminal, and Multi-Agent Tools Integrated Into a Single Window

Beating AI News Flash: Moonshot AI has officially launched Kimi Code Desktop, turning its previously terminal-focused Kimi Code into a standalone desktop application. Users can directly open local projects, allowing the Agent to read and write code, run commands, and view Git changes. The app currently supports macOS and Windows, and comes with built-in browser and terminal. When working on web pages, the Agent can access page information from the right-side web view; users can also directly select elements, draw bounding boxes, or annotate screenshots to specify exact changes needed. No more window switching for code modification, web previews, and test runs. It also supports three task modes: Plan, Goal, and Swarm. Swarm mode splits tasks across multiple sub-Agents for parallel processing, and long-running tasks can run in the background. Besides Kimi’s own models, users can input their own API keys and Base URLs to integrate models from other providers.

Anthropic has established a biology lab, with the goal of enabling its Claude AI system to control physical robots.

Beating AI Express: Anthropic has built its own biology lab in the San Francisco Bay Area, moving its AI model Claude from digital research to real-world experiments. Eric Kauderer-Abrams, head of life sciences at Anthropic, confirmed the company now runs its own experiments while also outsourcing some work to external partners. The next step is integrating Claude directly into lab automation: Anthropic aims to have Claude control robotic arms, pipetting robots and other equipment, performing experiments independently under human supervision. Last month, the company launched the Model Hardware Standard, which allows AI to control microscopes, robotic arms and lab instruments via a unified interface. The system can already adjust parameters based on experimental results and even handle some equipment malfunctions. Anthropic has also begun conducting preclinical drug research, focusing on diseases that traditional pharmaceutical firms deem too difficult or not commercially viable. However, the company will not carry out human clinical trials for now, noting its lab is not specifically for drug discovery, to avoid direct competition with its pharmaceutical clients. Life sciences is one of the areas where Anthropic has allocated the most manpower and resources. In June this year, the company launched Claude Science, a workbench integrating research tools including paper databases, code and computing resources. Now, with the addition of a real lab, Claude’s scientific research capabilities are advancing from “data analysis” to “hands-on experimentation.”
