Aron questioned why Robinhood, which admits it cannot offer or sell stock tokens to “U.S. persons”, still promotes such products extensively on its U.S. official website. He also raised concerns about whether Robinhood’s stock token services, operated via its Jersey-based offshore arm, are running outside the bounds of U.S. securities laws. Additionally, Aron noted that stock token buyers hold fewer rights than actual shareholders, which could confuse investors; he further asked if related tokens would still qualify as truly 1:1 backed if the underlying real stocks are lent to short sellers. Aron described stock tokens as “unregulated, derivative, synthetic or debt-backed securities”, adding that they are merely simulations of real stocks.

South Korea’s major stock exchanges are extending trading hours into the evening, breaking Asian trading time conventions, in a bid to attract sustained demand from global investors. As part of its goal to launch 24-hour trading by December 2027, the Korea Exchange (KRX) will open trading for nearly all local stocks until 8 PM starting next Monday, up from the previous regular closing time of 3:30 PM. This marks the first such move among major Asian exchanges, aligning with the global trend of all-day trading. The new measure launching next Monday will test whether KRX can maintain sufficient liquidity over extended trading days and confirm if investors truly need the extra time—even as interest in South Korean stocks is cooling. Young-jae Lee, senior investment manager at London-based Pictet Asset Management, said: “Longer trading windows typically give investors more flexibility, making the market more efficient.
