She left OpenAI’s full-time position in July this year due to a worsening neuroimmune disease, and remains a part-time advisor. Nscale, a compute partner of OpenAI, recently signed a 6-year, $45 billion compute deal with Anthropic. Simo will recuse herself from Nscale board matters involving OpenAI.
