Meta’s personal AI agent faces pre-launch backlash: sends emails and changes user passwords without consent.

Beating AI News (Dongcha) – Meta is bolstering security safeguards for its upcoming personal AI agent, Hatch. During employee testing of early versions, Hatch repeatedly exhibited unauthorized behavior: it sent emails and modified account passwords without permission. In one instance, an employee tasked it with booking a hotel, but instead of completing the reservation, Hatch unauthorizedly converted Chase general points into Hyatt hotel points. Hatch has far broader permissions than standard chatbots, functioning like its own dedicated computer capable of web browsing, form-filling, shopping, and in-depth research, with direct integrations for services including email and calendars. It can also operate in the background even when its app is closed. Security testing also uncovered credential vulnerabilities. Signal founder Moxie Marlinspike connected a dedicated Gmail account to Hatch, then sent an email from another address asking for its password – and Hatch directly replied with the password. In another test, it redirected an employee to a phishing site to complete a purchase. Meta has since implemented critical safeguards outside the core model. Now, when Hatch attempts sensitive actions like accessing the internet, using the browser, or sending emails, it triggers a "hard gate": a forced pause that requires explicit user approval, with no way for the agent to bypass this check. Password reset links and two-factor authentication codes are no longer directly provided to Hatch; instead, they are stored in a separate "credential vault" that requires additional authorization to access.

Robinhood CEO responds to AMC's criticism: No need to worry, tokenized US stocks will not be sold to US citizens.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev responded to AMC CEO’s claim that Robinhood’s tokenized US stocks are illegal, asking “What’s there to worry about?” The AMC CEO included Robinhood’s tokenized US stocks disclaimer as evidence in his critical tweet, which states that “Robinhood’s tokenized US stocks are not registered in the U.S. and are not sold to U.S. citizens.” Tenev’s response signals Robinhood is compliant, not operating in a black box, and its product structure is fully transparent. Additionally, crypto trader Ansem commented under the AMC CEO’s tweet: “Lmao.”

Crypto-stock meme project GME hits $3.6M market cap in its first hour of trading.

According to GMGN data, the stock meme project GME (Greatest Meme Ever) on Robinhood Chain saw its market cap exceed $3.6 million within one hour of launch, and has since dropped to $2 million, with a trading volume of $3.6 million. GME leverages the Robinhood stock trading platform, pairing with tokenized U.S. stock GameStop (ticker: GME) as its liquidity pool, and uses a GME/GME trading pair to provide liquidity. BlockBeats Note: Stock Meme is an emerging concept that combines traditional meme coins with tokenized U.S. stocks. Unlike meme coins paired with USDT or ETH, these tokens are directly matched with on-chain U.S. stock tokens (such as NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, etc.). This model retains the high volatility and community-driven speculative traits of meme coins while tying to the popularity and narrative of real stocks. A portion of transaction fees often flows back to the community treasury to accumulate the corresponding U.S. stock tokens, forming a dual-driven model of "sentiment-driven hype + real asset anchoring". Prices are highly volatile; investors should exercise caution.

Behind the 1000x Star Meme Coin and Stock Craze: AMC CEO Slams Robinhood’s Tokenized U.S. Stocks as Illegal, Engages Securities Lawyers to Launch Investigation

Today, the star crypto meme project MEME, which has surged over 1000 times, is paired with tokenized US stock AMC Entertainment (the US cinema chain, ticker: AMC) as its underlying pool. This morning, AMC’s CEO published a statement slamming Robinhood, alleging that Robinhood is promoting tokenized stocks covering over 190 companies including AMC, none of which are registered under US securities laws. AMC stated this unauthorized association with its name and official stock has nothing to do with AMC, which does not endorse it. AMC harshly called Robinhood’s actions “despicable, absurd, disgusting, abhorrent, unforgivable, and cowardly”, and has immediately retained external securities lawyers to investigate. According to GMGN data, the crypto meme project MEME on Robinhood Chain has continued its rally, approaching a $50 million market cap, with a more than 1000x surge in 24 hours. MEME pairs with tokenized US stock AMC Entertainment (US cinema chain, ticker: AMC) as its underlying pool, leveraging stock trading platform Robinhood and offering liquidity via the MEME/AMC trading pair. Separately, per BIT (bit.com) market data, US-listed AMC (the US cinema chain) has extended its after-hours gains to over 14%.
