August's US ADP Employment Report came in below expectations. Trump stated he is prepared to launch another strike on Iran. As markets assess the impact of renewed US-Iran military strikes, oil prices swung higher then lower: WTI crude oil briefly topped the $90 per barrel mark during the session, but quickly pulled back, erasing all intraday gains, and closed down 0.28% at $89.12 per barrel; Brent crude settled 0.11% lower at $94.30 per barrel. According to market data from BIT (bit.com), US stocks closed on Wednesday: the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.56%, the S&P 500 gained 0.46%, and the Nasdaq added 0.45%. NVIDIA (NVDA.O) and Oracle climbed 3%, SK Hynix (SKHY.O) and Micron Technology (MU.O) rose over 2%, while Dell (DELL.N) surged 15.7%. According to HTX market data, Bitcoin is currently trading at $77,195, down 0.13% in 24 hours.

OpenAI Astra is reportedly integrated into the API backend: its model ID has changed from 400 to 404.

Beating AI Express News: OpenAI’s Responses API has started returning a 404 “Not Found” error for the suspected Astra model ID gpt-6-astra. Previously, inputting a non-existent model name would trigger a 400 error, while gpt-6-astra now returns a 404. Per OpenAI’s API error code differences, this indicates the model ID is likely in the backend system but not yet publicly available. Similar signals were observed earlier for Anthropic’s Fable 5.1: ahead of its launch on AWS Bedrock, the model ID also shifted from returning a 400 to a 404, followed by its official release. That said, gpt-6-astra may not be the final name. The Information previously reported that OpenAI once considered naming Astra GPT-6, but later scrapped that plan.

Coldcard Wave 3 attackers first transferred the stolen funds, converting some of the assets into ETH.

Galaxy Digital Head of Research Alex Thorn stated that attackers behind the Coldcard Wave 3 recently transferred stolen funds for the first time, converting a portion of the assets to ETH via cross-chain decentralized exchange THORChain. This marks the first instance of funds from the Wave 1, Wave 2, or Wave 3 attacks being moved from the attackers’ initial wallet addresses to other on-chain addresses. Currently, approximately 90% of the stolen funds from Wave 3 remain untransferred. On-chain activity indicates the attackers encountered apparent issues when conducting conversions via THORChain, with some transactions being repeatedly refunded, though they continue to attempt converting the remaining funds.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has just filed a motion to dismiss CME Group’s lawsuit over perpetual contracts. The motion argues CME lacks standing in the case, with reasons including that CME itself could launch perpetual contracts, so its alleged harm is self-inflicted. Earlier reports said CME planned to sue the CFTC to oppose the agency’s green light for Kalshi’s Bitcoin perpetual contracts.
