Balancer announced in a post that a vulnerability has been discovered in its legacy Balancer v1 smart contract, which allows attackers to drain liquidity provider (LP) funds. The affected pools are deprecated and cannot be paused. Users are encouraged to withdraw their funds. Other Balancer products remain unaffected.

According to Yu Jing Monitoring, an institutional address has transferred 52,739 ETH (valued at ~$129 million) to six centralized exchanges (CEXs) including Binance and OKX since yesterday. The address currently holds 101,561 ETH, worth approximately $249 million. The ETH was withdrawn from Coinbase between 2021 and 2022 at an average price of ~$1,700, deposited into Ethereum staking in 2023, redeemed from staking last January, aggregated into two wallets over the past two days, and then sequentially transferred to multiple CEXs.
