Bitwise's Solana Staking ETF Hits New All-Time High in Daily Trading Volume

Per official announcements, crypto custody firm BitGo has reached a definitive agreement with NYDIG to acquire its institutional trading business, adding new capabilities in execution, derivatives, structured products, and financing that complement its existing federally regulated custody, settlement, and wallet infrastructure. NYDIG’s institutional trading business serves institutional investors including asset management firms, hedge funds, corporations, and family offices.

According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) are advancing a rulemaking to clarify the definition of "unsafe or unsound practices" in bank regulation. The term has long lacked clear definition, granting bank examiners broad discretionary authority. The new rule will require regulators to tie such determinations to actual legal violations or material financial risks, preventing vague reputation-based or procedural grounds from being used to pressure banks into rejecting legitimate clients, including crypto firms.

Legal and consumer advocacy organization Public Citizen stated that since 2022, former U.S. President Donald Trump and his family-linked digital asset projects have caused investors to lose at least approximately $4.7 billion. The bulk of these losses stemmed from TRUMP (around $3.2 billion), with additional losses from WLFI governance tokens, 2022-launched NFT trading cards, and Trump Media’s digital asset vaults, among others. The report also detailed Trump-related revenues, including roughly $7.2 million in NFT royalties and splits, about $635 million in TRUMP licensing fees, and over $600 million from World Liberty token sales and equity sales.

Currently, U.S. Treasury yields are elevated and inflation remains well above the target, while markets still lack clarity on under what conditions Walsh will further tighten policy, making this speech a key event that could potentially influence interest rate expectations and bond pricing. Abu Dhabi royal family member and UAE National Security Advisor Tahnoon bin Zayed al Nahyan, together with co-investors, hold a 49% stake in WLTC Holdings, the new banking holding company of World Liberty Financial, making them the largest shareholder. Trump family-linked entities hold approximately 38% of the stake. This month, the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted preliminary conditional approval for World Liberty to establish a national trust bank, which will handle the issuance, redemption, and custody of its stablecoin USD1. Last year, Tahnoon also invested $500 million in World Liberty via another entity, securing a 49% stake, with roughly $263 million of that sum flowing to Trump family-related entities. (WSJ)
