Herdr is no longer limited to building an Agent version of tmux; its new desktop client enables AI to independently modify its interfaces and features.

Beating AI Express: Herdr, a terminal manager originally designed for AI programming tools and positioned as an Agent version of tmux, has launched two new open-source projects: the brand-new herdr-core runtime and a native desktop app built on it. Developers can run multiple Claude Code and Codex instances simultaneously, track task progress, enable Agents to assign work to each other and retrieve results. Background tasks will continue running even after the terminal window is closed. The herdr-core redevelops the background capabilities previously integrated into the terminal tool into an independent service, offering standardized interfaces. Developers can use it to directly run and schedule Agents, or build their own desktop or mobile apps without adapting to the original TUI architecture. It also adds an independent terminal holding process: as long as this process is active, ongoing tasks will not be interrupted even if the core itself crashes or is updated. The accompanying desktop app lets users edit interface layouts, shortcuts, and function panels via local files. For example, to move Agents waiting for approval to the right side, or add a runtime timer to each task, users only need to instruct Codex to modify the corresponding layout or JavaScript file; the interface updates automatically after saving, no software recompilation required. The legacy Herdr TUI will remain maintained, though it does not share active tasks with the new core for now. All three projects are released under the Apache 2.0 open-source license.

Ballet Founder: Bitcoin stolen in the Binance hack may be unrecoverable, market tolerance for large losses has increased.

According to Bloomberg, Bobby Lee, founder of digital asset hardware wallet firm Ballet, said the Bitcoin stolen in the Binance hack is likely irrecoverable. “That Bitcoin is gone, it’s in the hands of hackers,” Lee told Bloomberg Television. Lee added that only stablecoins have a realistic chance of being recovered, but freezing assets does not equal recovery. Binance still needs to cooperate with law enforcement in investigations and formally apply to claim the frozen assets. Lee also noted that the crypto market is far more mature than it was in the past, with an overall size of trillions of dollars, so losses of $1 billion, $2 billion, or even $50 billion are not the end of the world.

Security Alert: Suspected Hardware Implants Discovered in Trezor Safe 5 Devices Sold via CryptoBilis

Hardware wallet manufacturer Trezor announced that its security team has received a responsible disclosure report alleging a hardware trojan was implanted inside a Trezor Safe 5 purchased via Southeast Asian official dealer CryptoBilis. The device was bought through Tokopedia in August 2026. The report details an extra circuit board equipped with a cellular module and antenna fitted between the mainboard and screen, which is claimed to read screen content including mnemonics and transmit the data externally via mobile network when the device is powered on. Trezor has not yet received the physical device for laboratory verification, but based on customer descriptions and video communications, it deems the report credible and issues a preemptive warning. CryptoBilis, a Southeast Asian dealer, previously sparked a large-scale fund outflow incident after selling tampered Ledger devices; Trezor removed it from its official dealer list on October 9. Trezor noted that no user loss reports have been received to date, advising customers who purchased devices from CryptoBilis since March 2026 to promptly move their assets to a new mnemonic wallet, never input existing mnemonics on suspicious devices, and contact the official for a replacement device if eligible.
