American Bankers Association: Supports passage of the CLARITY Act, but calls for tightening stablecoin reward provisions.

American Bankers Association (ABA) President and CEO Rob Nichols said the goal is to strengthen, not block, the passage of the CLARITY Act. He noted that the digital asset industry needs a clear regulatory framework, but a key provision in the bill regarding stablecoin rewards still requires further tightening. Nichols pointed out that the 2025 GENIUS Act already prohibits stablecoin issuers from paying interest or returns to holders; the current controversy centers on whether related parties such as crypto trading platforms can offer interest-like rewards. He warned that if stablecoin wallets use such mechanisms to draw deposits away from banks, it could erode the funding base banks rely on for small business loans, mortgages, and agricultural financing. The American Bankers Association proposes amending relevant language in the bill to ban stablecoin rewards that are "substantially similar" to interest payments, and removing ambiguous wording. Nichols said these changes will not prevent crypto firms from offering other reward programs, but will stop reward mechanisms from evolving into disguised deposit interest. He also stated that the ABA is pushing senators to revise the relevant provisions ahead of the September vote, and believes the U.S. can become both a global banking hub and a global crypto hub—provided clear, consistent regulatory rules are established.

Stifel anticipates NVIDIA’s earnings will beat expectations, with the chipmaker set to raise its forward guidance. The investment firm reaffirms a "Buy" rating on NVIDIA and a $282 price target.

Wall Street investment bank Stifel analyst Ruben Roy maintained a "Buy" rating and $282 price target ahead of NVIDIA (NVDA)’s Q2 fiscal 2027 earnings release on August 26, projecting the chipmaker will beat consensus estimates this quarter and raising its forward guidance. Stifel noted that this earnings cycle continues to reinforce the AI demand thesis: cloud service providers have sharply lifted capital expenditures, Hon Hai’s cloud networking product business revenue accounted for over 50% for the first time, and the firm projects full-year AI rack shipments will more than double; Supermicro added over $60 billion in new orders in the quarter. Supply chain research shows that even as NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin chip ramps up production, demand for the GB300 is expected to persist through the first half of 2027. Stifel views this as reducing the risk of a demand "gap" during NVIDIA’s product generation transition. Regarding market concerns such as storage costs and competition in the AI inference space, Stifel argues these factors will likely impact gross margins rather than demand, and the associated risks are already partially priced into current valuations.
