BSC ecosystem project TUT saw abnormal price movements today. Per HTX market data, its spot price surged over 200% in 24 hours to $0.11. In the past hour, the token accelerated higher before a sharp pullback, logging a more than 44% drop in 60 minutes. Notably, TUT’s price has been rallying sharply recently, surging over 10x in a week. Against this backdrop, TUT’s contract trading has been active, and amid extreme volatility, it has become the token with the largest liquidation volume in the past hour. As of press time, TUT recorded $34.02 million in 1-hour liquidations, including $32.78 million in short positions. Multiple short positions worth over $1 million on centralized exchanges (CEXs) have been liquidated.

Bifrost tweeted that at 19:47 Beijing time on August 8, hackers exploited a liquidity pool vulnerability to steal assets worth approximately $720,000 from the vDOT single-asset pool, as well as the vASTR/ASTR and vMANTA/MANTA pools. The stolen assets were later deposited into HitBTC before ultimately flowing into Binance. Bifrost has since contacted Binance’s security team to submit a fund freeze application, and has filed a report with law enforcement along with an on-chain evidence package including transaction traces, wallet addresses and timestamps. The project has suspended all liquidity mining rewards and initiated a full security audit.

BTCPay Server has issued an emergency security advisory, stating that all versions prior to 2.4.2 (including the 2.4.2 release candidate) contain a critical vulnerability that has been actively exploited by attackers, resulting in user funds being stolen. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote attackers to obtain LND (Lightning Network implementation) .macaroon credential files, enabling them to take control of LND nodes and transfer funds. The official has confirmed the vulnerability was exploited to cause user fund losses, and urges all LND users to immediately upgrade to BTCPay Server 2.4.2 and LND 0.21.1. BTCPay Server’s on-chain wallets themselves are not affected. The official has not yet disclosed the exact amount of stolen funds. Public information shows that BTCPay Server is a free, open-source, self-hosted Bitcoin payment processor, focused on providing fee-free, non-custodial Bitcoin payment solutions for sovereign individuals and businesses. Core protocol contributors estimate there may be hundreds of thousands of BTCPay Server instances running globally, with over 1 million downloads from its main GitHub repository.

Well-known trader Killa has shared Bitcoin technical analysis insights, noting that if BTC falls below its current weekly high of $65,300, it will retest the monthly opening price of around $62,700. If Bitcoin can strongly break through and hold above the $65,300 resistance level, it may advance further to around $66,900. Overall, Killa judges that Bitcoin has been trading in a range over the past two months, with no clear breakout signal yet. A BTC-focused quantitative trader, Killa previously predicted the peak of this bull market in May 2025, boasts over 200,000 followers on X, went short on Bitcoin at $74,688 in mid-April, and switched to long positions during the broad market sell-off on June 5.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut announced that three men from St. Louis—Sedric Louis, John Davis, and Martel Williams—are charged with conspiracy to interfere with commerce through robbery, allegedly plotting to break into a residence and force victims to transfer cryptocurrency linked to a multi-hundred-million-dollar bitcoin theft. Each faces up to 20 years in prison. Prosecutors allege the trio traveled to Connecticut between August 21 and 24, 2024, rented a vehicle, prepared items including airsoft guns and walkie-talkies, surveilled the target and his parents for two consecutive days, then abandoned the operation over fears that home security cameras would record their movements. A separate group of individuals from Florida later executed the same plan, and six people were arrested on August 25 in connection with a Lamborghini Urus carjacking. Louis and Davis have been in custody since their June 25 arrest, and pleaded not guilty to the charges at Bridgeport Federal Court on July 30. Williams entered the same not guilty plea on July 17 and was granted bail afterward. Prosecutors clarified that the targeted individuals were the parents of people involved in the multi-hundred-million-dollar bitcoin theft, and the indictment does not constitute evidence of guilt.
