The number of new network wallets reached 2.27 million, hitting a 12-month high, while active wallets stood at 751,000, marking a 10-month peak. The biggest catalyst was the chaos sparked by the Coldcard wallet security incident, which forced users to move funds, create new wallets, adjust custody settings, and re-assess their risk exposure—naturally driving a sharp rise in wallet creation and activity. Polarizing events tend to trigger the strongest on-chain reactions for Bitcoin and altcoins. Fear spreads rapidly, followed by greed; both emotions push more people to trade, adjust positions, and closely track market dynamics, reigniting demand after periods of market downturns.
