US sports retail giant Fanatics announced it has agreed to acquire BGC Group’s Water Street Labs and CX Clearinghouse, gaining a federally regulated exchange and clearinghouse to build and operate its own prediction market business. The deal will enable Fanatics to independently issue and settle event contracts, enhancing its control over the design and launch speed of prediction market products. The two sides also plan to develop new market data products combining prediction market trading data with traditional financial data. The firm plans to manufacture around 5 DUV lithography machines in 2026, expanding output to roughly 20 units in 2027. While a significant capacity gap remains with Dutch lithography giant ASML, which delivered 131 immersion DUV lithography systems last year, the mass production of domestically developed DUV equipment marks a further step toward self-reliance and control in China’s chip manufacturing supply chain.
