Dongcha’s Beating AI Express: Netizens recently discovered a seemingly out-of-context AI prompt in the physical novel *The Lone Road to the End*: "Need me to fine-tune some sentences to make the overall style more aligned with the suspenseful and supernatural atmosphere?" The sentence was not present in the novel’s version on the Tomato Novel app, sparking netizens’ doubts about the publishing process and the use of AI tools. On October 9, a staff member from Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing House responded that the publisher had received the relevant feedback and was handling the matter. All already-distributed copies of the book will be recalled and destroyed, and it will be republished after revision. Regarding the cause of the suspected AI prompt in the manuscript, the staff said the manuscript went through multiple stages including editing and proofreading, and the issue was not the author’s fault. According to reports, the book opened for pre-sales on August 21 this year and is currently unavailable for purchase on all platforms. A former sales head of the publishing house previously stated that the physical book was pulled from shelves due to insufficient inventory.

According to South Korean media reports, ASML has notified Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix that it will implement a uniform 10% price increase on EUV and DUV lithography machine components for the South Korean market. The adjustment covers regularly replaced consumable parts and core components required for fault repairs, including optical systems, light sources, and precision drive units. After consultations between the procurement departments of both sides, the two memory chip giants have accepted the price hike plan, with the adjustment set to take effect in January next year. This uniform across-the-board price increase is relatively rare; ASML previously typically adjusted prices only individually for components facing rising raw material costs or tight supply of specific materials. Meanwhile, the company is in negotiations with key clients over price hikes for new equipment. According to earlier reports, equipment manufacturers including Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron have also raised product prices, and the price hike trend in the semiconductor equipment sector is spreading. AI data center investment is driving memory chip and foundry players to expand production capacity, leading to a concentrated surge in demand for equipment and components. With suppliers taking time to ramp up production, coupled with inflation and raw material cost pressures, bargaining power in the equipment supply chain is shifting toward suppliers. The report noted that TSMC had previously opposed ASML’s equipment price hikes, indicating that different clients still have varying levels of acceptance of rising costs.

According to sources from Apple's supply chain, the tech giant is making structural adjustments to its 2026 fall new iPhone orders: it has placed an additional 30% order for the iPhone Duo, though the total volume still remains below 10 million units; it has cut orders for the iPhone 18 Pro by 10% to 15%, while increasing orders for the iPhone 18 Pro Max by 10% to 15%, leaving the total order volume for the entire iPhone 18 Pro series unchanged. An Apple supply chain source said, "This means sales are shifting toward higher-value products, which is overall positive for the performance of Apple's supply chain companies."

Beating AI Express (Insight) – Anthropic announced that all waitlisted Pro and Max tier users who applied for Claude Code Projects have now been granted testing access. The feature launched in September, initially available only to a small subset of users. While its scope has expanded, it remains in Beta testing and is not yet fully open to all paid subscribers. Claude Code Projects functions as a project management agent: users only need to submit requests, and it automatically splits tasks and assigns them to multiple concurrent Claude Code sessions. Each session independently writes code, runs tests, submits pull requests (PRs), and reports back to the manager, eliminating the need for users to assign tasks or track progress manually. These sessions share project data and memory, run on the cloud by default, and can continue operating even when the user’s computer is powered off. For tasks requiring local files or software, users can also designate execution on their own device.
