Metaplanet is exploring the introduction of Bitcoin-backed digital credit to Japan.

According to data from the BIT stock platform, all US-listed crypto-related stocks declined at the opening of US trading. The specific drops are as follows: Coinbase (COIN) fell 12.46%, Strategy (MSTR) dropped 11.59%, American Bitcoin (ABTC) declined 11.33%, Circle (CRCL) fell 9.79%, CEA Industries (BNC) dropped 9.61%, Robinhood (HOOD) declined 8.67%, MARA fell 8.09%, GEMI dropped 7.87%, Riot Platforms (RIOT) declined 7.86%, Bullish (BLSH) fell 7.69%, SharpLink (SBET) dropped 7.19%, and BitMine (BMNR) declined 7.06%.

According to data from the BIT stock platform, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 5.7%. AMD (AMD.O) dropped 10%, Arm (ARM.O) declined 9.5%, Marvell Technology (MRVL.O) fell 5%, Qualcomm (QCOM.O) dropped 6.3%, and NVIDIA (NVDA.O) slipped 3.3%, with their total market capitalization falling below $5 trillion.

Crypto analyst Darkfost said in a post that after Binance suffered a $6.3 billion asset theft, its major token reserves saw a relatively limited decline on the day. He noted that despite the attack’s massive scale, reserve changes indicate the platform still has the ability to absorb the impact and minimize harm to users. Per his tracking, within the relevant block range, Binance outflowed 18,279 BTC, 185 million XRP, and $1.67 billion worth of USDT. ETH was withdrawn in two batches: 167,464 and 79,376, totaling 246,840 ETH. Daily reserve changes show: BTC reserves dropped 3.1% to over 682,000; ETH reserves fell 8.5% to 3.3 million; XRP reserves decreased 8% to 2.47 billion; USDT reserves fell 6.3% to 34.1 billion. Darkfost concluded that the impact on the platform’s reserves was relatively limited, and the effect on users appeared minor. On asset freezing, roughly $3 billion in assets have been frozen, including $1.567 billion in USDT and over $800 million in USDC. Binance also pledged to cover losses via its SAFU fund and corporate reserves.

According to HTX market data, Bitcoin has fallen below $77,000, with a 24-hour decline of 3.74%.

Tech stock sell-offs continued: Intel (INTC.O) plunged 25.7% as the PC downturn crushed recovery expectations and weighed on free cash flow. Amazon (AMZN.O) fell 5.3% with its Q4 outlook coming in below expectations. Nvidia (NVDA.O) dropped 2.5%. A host of new cloud firms also declined, with Nebius (NBIS.O) down 7.3%. Gold and silver sectors slumped, while some oil stocks gained; ExxonMobil (XOM.N) rose 1.5%.

According to data from the BIT Stock Platform, U.S. stocks opened, with Neocloud, semiconductor, optical communication, and storage stocks all declining across the board. Among semiconductor stocks, Intel (INTC) fell 29.35%, AMD dropped 10.22%, Arm (ARM) declined 10.01%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) fell 7.36%, and NVIDIA (NVDA) dropped 3.11%. Neocloud stocks saw the steepest declines: Hut 8 (HUT) fell 10.20%, Cipher Digital (CIFR) down 9.38%, CoreWeave (CRWV) declined 9.24%, TeraWulf (WULF) dropped 9.18%, Nebius (NBIS) down 8.81%, and Core Scientific (CORZ) fell 8.59%. Optical communication concept stocks also moved lower, with Coherent (COHR) falling 9.04%, Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) down 8.90%, Astera Labs (ALAB) declining 7.73%, Ciena (CIEN) dropping 7.55%, and Nokia (NOK) down 7.38%. Storage stocks all fell across the board: SanDisk (SNDK) dropped 9.26%, SK Hynix (SKHY) down 6.97%, Micron Technology (MU) declined 5.56%, Western Digital (WDC) fell 5.51%, and Seagate Technology (STX) down 5.21%.
