According to market data from BIT (bit.com), Bitcoin mining firm Riot Platforms rose 4.33% on Tuesday, adding another 0.54% in after-hours trading to close at $20.35. Yesterday, Anthropic and Riot reached a $9.1 billion AI computing power agreement to meet the growing computing needs of Claude users. Riot will supply 191MW of computing power to the AI developer at its Rockdale campus in Texas under a 20-year contract. Sources familiar with the matter confirmed the client is Anthropic. Formerly focused on Bitcoin mining, Riot is now transitioning to AI and cloud computing infrastructure business, similar to several other crypto mining companies.

FundaAI releases a memory market analysis, explicitly refuting TrendForce’s view that recent average memory price growth has flattened and the market will face oversupply in the future. FundaAI argues this is a structural normalization process driven by two major factors: First, price sensitivity in the consumer electronics segment. End devices such as smartphones have extremely limited ability to absorb further memory price hikes, while PC original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), due to their higher baseline average prices and rigid demand from education and commercial sectors, show greater tolerance for price increases. Second, the rising share of long-term supply agreements (LTAs). Cloud service providers are actively signing LTAs, with locked prices typically lower than short-term contract rates. As LTA share grows, overall average price growth naturally slows, but memory manufacturers are protected by advance payments and breach penalty clauses, leading to enhanced revenue stability. FundaAI interprets the current slowdown in average price growth as a healthy development for the memory market, not a precursor to oversupply between 2027 and 2028. It forecasts that, supported by a further rise in LTA share and a continued shift in product mix toward data centers, memory prices will remain at high levels through 2027 rather than collapsing after peaking.

Serenity stated in a post that it was previously unaware that 25-year-old rising Wall Street AI stock prodigy Leopold was also an investor in MLCC bottleneck plays, until the latest holdings disclosure revealed his fund Situational Awareness holds approximately 5.99% of Japanese MLCC maker Taiyo Yuden. As of June 29, Leopold’s average cost per share is roughly 17,446 yen, while the current share price stands at around 9,797 yen, resulting in a significant unrealized loss. Taiyo Yuden is one of the world’s largest MLCC manufacturers; its June shipments hit 40 billion units, a five-year monthly high, and it, along with Murata and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, has benefited from surging demand for high-capacitance, low-voltage, small-size MLCCs from AI servers. Serenity added that it has also increased its position in Taiyo Yuden today to show support. Recently, leading MLCC manufacturers in South Korea and Japan have been rapidly shifting their consumer-grade production capacity to higher-spec products for AI applications, pushing inventories of mid-to-high capacitance consumer MLCCs below 30 days and driving channel prices sharply higher, as AI bottlenecks spread beyond GPUs and memory to the smallest components on circuit boards.

South Korea’s Supreme Court has ruled that Samsung Securities must pay 1.86 billion won to the National Pension Service (NPS) to compensate for losses stemming from a 2018 dividend payout error. In April 2018, the firm mistakenly issued 1,000 shares of stock instead of a 1,000 won cash dividend to each employee; subsequent selling by staff pushed the stock price down by as much as 11.7% during the trading day. The NPS had sought 29.9 billion won in compensation, but a lower court ordered Samsung Securities to pay 1.86 billion won. The Supreme Court upheld that ruling on Wednesday.
