A European fintech giant valued at $100 billion shifts to Zhipu GLM, slashing AI programming costs by around 90%.
Beating AI News Flash: Revolut, Europe’s most valuable fintech unicorn, has made Zhipu GLM the default AI coding model for around 2,000 of its engineers. Tools like Claude Code and Codex have been demoted to secondary options, reserved primarily for complex tasks. David Abitbol, Revolut’s head of AI operations, revealed that the company previously allocated a $300 monthly per-user quota for Claude Code, but it delivered limited overall efficiency gains. In April this year, the company began self-deploying GLM and opened unlimited tokens to its engineers. Currently, Revolut uses around 56 NVIDIA B200 GPUs to run GLM 5.3, with a combined cost of approximately $0.30 per million tokens—just one-tenth of the bills the company previously paid to Anthropic and OpenAI. According to internal company statistics, engineers’ coding time metrics improved by around 60%, and end-to-end task delivery cycles improved by approximately 70%. In the past, limited tokens led engineers to reserve them only for complex tasks. Now, with no need to conserve tokens, they are using AI extensively for internal document searches, Jira ticket processing, and Slack requirement clarification. Only when tokens are cheap enough to avoid careful budgeting can AI transition from handling a small number of complex tasks to integrating into the entire R&D workflow.

Bloomberg: Binance theft incident may not receive insurance payout, insiders say it did not take out cyber security insurance.
According to Bloomberg Law, citing people familiar with the matter, Binance may not secure large-scale insurance payouts following the theft of approximately $6.3 billion worth of crypto assets. The sources disclosed that while Binance holds directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance, which covers regulatory investigations or lawsuits arising from the incident, it does not yet have cyber security insurance for losses from cyber attacks. The report points out that cryptocurrency companies generally face difficulties in obtaining cyber security insurance. Even if firms hold digital asset insurance, crime insurance, or D&O insurance, policy exclusions may limit the scope of actual payouts.

OpenAI ramps up military AI efforts: Former U.S. Army Secretary joins the company, tasked with liaising with military requirements.
Beating AI Insight News: OpenAI announced the appointment of former U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll as its new Senior Advisor for National Security Modernization. Driscoll will assist the company in collaborating with the U.S. government and its allies, drive AI applications in defense, cybersecurity and other fields, and help OpenAI understand the military’s actual operational needs.
A veteran of the Iraq War, Driscoll resigned earlier this year due to disagreements with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. During his tenure, he promoted an initiative called Operation Jailbreak, which aimed to connect the long-incompatible radar, weapons and battlefield command systems of the U.S. military to enable cross-system data sharing.
OpenAI previously explicitly banned military uses in its usage policies, but removed this blanket restriction in early 2024. In 2025, the company secured a U.S. Department of Defense contract worth up to $200 million. This February, OpenAI announced it would integrate ChatGPT into the GenAI.mil platform, which serves around 3 million military and civilian personnel, and signed an agreement with the Pentagon to allow its models to be deployed in classified environments.
The military collaboration has sparked internal controversy: in March, OpenAI’s head of robotics and hardware Caitlin Kalinowski resigned over concerns that the Pentagon agreement was advancing too hastily and lacked clear security safeguards. OpenAI stated that the agreement prohibits using its technology for large-scale domestic surveillance or allowing AI to independently control autonomous weapons.

Matter Labs completes SOC 2 Type II audit for its Prividium platform.
According to an announcement on the ZK Nation forum, Matter Labs has completed the SOC 2 Type II audit of its Prividium platform, covering four areas: security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy. The audit was conducted by Thoropass Assurance, an independent audit firm recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Earlier this year, a SOC 2 Type I audit was completed, which verified the reasonable design of the platform’s control measures as of May 29. The Type II audit further validates whether these control measures have operated effectively over a continuous period, covering the timeframe from July 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.
The announcement notes that for banks and regulated financial institutions, SOC 2 Type II reports are typically required by vendor risk assessment teams before a platform is deployed to production environments. Currently, the report is accessible to existing and qualified prospective clients after signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). This SOC 2 certification is also one of the deliverables outlined in the TPP-18 proposal.
Matter Labs previously stated in its Q3 2026 delivery report that the Type II audit was still in progress, and the work has now been formally completed.
