South Korea’s Supreme Court has ruled that Samsung Securities must pay 1.86 billion won to the National Pension Service (NPS) to compensate for losses stemming from a 2018 dividend payout error. In April 2018, the firm mistakenly issued 1,000 shares of stock instead of a 1,000 won cash dividend to each employee; subsequent selling by staff pushed the stock price down by as much as 11.7% during the trading day. The NPS had sought 29.9 billion won in compensation, but a lower court ordered Samsung Securities to pay 1.86 billion won. The Supreme Court upheld that ruling on Wednesday.

According to a report by The Washington Post, Donald Trump confirmed he secretly switched planes when departing Turkey last month. The White House had previously led the public to believe Trump returned to the U.S. from Turkey aboard Air Force One, but he was actually assigned to another aircraft. Trump said local time Tuesday that the move was requested by the Secret Service and the military due to security threats. “They wanted me to take another flight, another plane. According to monitoring by Beating and a Caixin report, former major shareholders of Manus including Tencent, ZhenFund and Sequoia China have repurchased Manus shares from Meta for $2 billion.
