Matrixport: Ethereum May Continue to Face Pressure, March Upgrade Market Sentiment Cools

2025.02.10 15:16:35

On February 10th, Matrixport issued its daily chart analysis. It was stated that since late January, the Ethereum spot ETF has seen a total inflow of $500 million. Nevertheless, the ETH price has not shown a significant rebound. This implies that although the previous price surge in November due to the Trump election has mostly been retraced, the selling pressure in the market remains strong. However, the interest of long-term value investors appears to be warming up. Even members of the "World Financial Freedom" organization have expressed their interest in ETH. Looking ahead, the Ethereum network upgrade in March could potentially serve as a catalyst. But the market reaction has been relatively lackluster, unlike the enthusiastic atmosphere during past upgrades. Currently, the market generally believes that this upgrade is unlikely to trigger a major rally. In the absence of clear positive catalysts, the ETH price may continue to face pressure, and Ethereum's market share has dropped to 10%.

World Liberty Financial postpones digital token issuance for Donald Trump’s Maldives resort.

World Liberty Financial and its partners have delayed the digital token linked to Donald Trump’s Maldives resort, which was originally scheduled to launch this spring. The project aimed to tokenize loan proceeds earmarked for financing the resort’s construction, with investors earning a share of interest income upon purchasing the tokens. Sources familiar with the development confirmed the issuance plan was pushed back due to disruptions to travel in the Middle East and surrounding regions caused by the Iran conflict. The resort is a joint venture between the Trump Organization and Dar Global, among other partners. World Liberty Financial has previously been advancing its real estate asset tokenization initiative with relevant institutions.

The SEC has once again delayed its tokenization innovation exemption program.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will once again delay the rollout of its innovative exemption program for tokenized assets, citing concerns raised by Wall Street and the White House. The exemption was originally intended to offer U.S. crypto firms a 12 to 36-month regulatory sandbox, allowing them to issue and trade tokenized securities. The core controversy centers on whether the exemption terms would allow third parties to issue stock tokens without the consent of listed companies. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated in a post that the framework is limited in scope, only facilitating the trading of digital representations of existing equity securities, not synthetic products.
