According to market sources, NVIDIA is collaborating with multiple companies on a $500 billion AI financing deal, including Apollo, Blackstone, and BlackRock. BlockBeats previously reported that on July 28, NVIDIA and OpenAI were in discussions over a roughly $500 billion mega AI data center project located in southern Ohio, USA, with a projected maximum power capacity of 10GW, potentially making it the world’s largest data center project. The report noted that NVIDIA may provide around $250 billion in funding to OpenAI for leasing a data center campus developed by SoftBank’s energy subsidiary SBEnergy. The project’s total cost is expected to exceed $500 billion, including up to $350 billion in AI chip purchases. The first phase of the data center is scheduled to be completed in 2028, with an initial power capacity of approximately 800MW. If fully implemented, its 10GW power scale will far outpace most current large-scale AI infrastructure projects, equivalent to meeting the electricity needs of around 8.4 million American households.
