According to market sources, renowned investor and "The Big Short" Michael Burry said he does not consider Berkshire Hathaway an attractive investment for the future. Burry is famous for successfully shorting the U.S. housing market ahead of the 2008 financial crisis, and his investment views have long been closely watched by the market. Currently, Berkshire Hathaway is led by the "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett. The company owns assets spanning insurance, rail, energy and multiple industrial sectors, and is regarded as a representative of value investing by long-term investors. As of press time, Berkshire Hathaway’s shares were up 2.84% intraday, with a market capitalization of $1.15 trillion.

Solana ecosystem DeFi yield infrastructure protocol Solstice Finance has launched a structured product strcUSX based on Strategy (MSTR) preferred stock STRC, marking the first Solana financial product linked to STRC. The product does not tokenize STRC stock nor represent users’ ownership of Strategy preferred shares; instead, it splits STRC-related yields and price risks via a yield vault. After users deposit Solstice’s dollar-settled token USX, they receive two types of Solana tokens, each corresponding to yield exposure of different risk levels. The senior tranche token SR-strcUSX claims yields first, with a target annualized return of around 7%; the junior tranche token JR-strcUSX takes on residual yields and more price volatility risk, with a target annualized return of over 20%. If STRC’s value drops, junior tranche holders absorb losses first. STRC is a floating-rate perpetual preferred stock issued by Strategy, currently with a cash dividend yield of around 12% paid twice monthly, though dividend disbursements remain subject to the company’s board of directors’ decision. Solstice stated that the product aims to let DeFi users gain exposure to STRC’s yields and risks without directly holding the stock, while catering to investors with different risk appetites via its tranched design. Earlier, on August 10, Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin to raise roughly $108.6 million, which it used to repurchase around 1.152 million STRC preferred shares. Strategy’s current Bitcoin holdings have dropped to 840,447 coins.

According to BIT (Bit.com) market data, stock of Trump family-backed Bitcoin mining firm ABTC (American Bitcoin) rose more than 13% to trade at $7.38, pushing its market capitalization to $533 million. On the news front, Justin Mateen – a director at ABTC and co-founder of Tinder – purchased ABTC shares over two consecutive days following the company’s quarterly earnings release, investing a total of roughly $1.93 million. Regulatory filings show Mateen bought approximately 145,000 Class A common shares of ABTC on August 5, for about $925,000 at an average price of $6.40 per share. On August 6, he added another ~162,000 shares worth ~$1 million, at an average price of $6.19 per share. The two transactions totaled 306,981 shares, bringing Mateen’s ABTC holdings to 492,297 shares.

According to Ai Yi’s disclosure, the top on-chain short seller of CXMT (Changxin Memory Technologies) holds approximately $21.12 million in 1x leveraged CXMT short positions, with an entry price of around $6.5. The current price has risen to $7.28, resulting in an unrealized loss of roughly $2.255 million. Meanwhile, this short seller has cumulatively paid funding fees totaling $3.078 million. The position was previously backed by over $40 million in margin, and there remains a significant gap to the liquidation price of $15.466. However, the ongoing accumulation of funding costs is eroding returns, leading the market to speculate that the trader may still be betting on a sharp pullback in CXMT’s price to cover current losses and turn a profit.
