DJI responded to reports that it was once Unitree Robotics' largest external shareholder and exited in 2019, stating it had no comment.

Unitree Robotics officially launched online and offline IPO subscription today. Its offering price is 150.80 yuan per share, with a post-issue total market cap of around 60.993 billion yuan and total fundraising of nearly 6.1 billion yuan, while the offering P/E ratio hits 219.23 times. Notably, the firm received early investment from DJI, though the stake was ultimately exited via DJI’s capital reduction. It is understood that Unitree founder Wang Xingxing briefly worked at DJI before starting his venture, but resigned shortly after to launch his startup. In 2018, DJI acquired roughly 17% of Unitree’s shares for 10.1286 million yuan, valuing the company at approximately 60 million yuan at the time. DJI’s stake in Unitree was once registered with industrial and commercial authorities, making it Unitree’s largest external shareholder, but DJI reduced its capital in 2019 and exited the company’s shareholder roll. Estimates suggest that if DJI had held onto the stake until now, its value would likely reach billions of yuan. In response to the news, DJI said it would not comment. (Source: Sina Technology)

US Senator Issues Ultimatum to AI Giants: Pause Development, Or Congress Will Step In

According to a report by AXIOS, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is urging CEOs of leading AI companies to pause AI development, warning that lawmakers will step in if no action is taken. The letter has been sent to OpenAI founder Sam Altman, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, and Mark Zuckerberg. “At a time when we’ve already seen humans lose control and create potentially dangerous viruses, your companies are still racing ahead—pouring tens of billions of dollars into a technology that no one can fully understand, predict, or control,” Sanders said. Currently, AI legislation, especially efforts led by progressives like Sanders, is unlikely to gain enough support in the current Congress to become law. What is expected for now are symbolic bills and public pressure campaigns. If the Democrats retake either chamber of Congress, there could be congressional investigations and subpoenas to hold tech CEOs accountable.

According to a report from AXIOS, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is urging CEOs of leading AI companies to pause AI development, warning that lawmakers will step in if no action is taken. The letter was reportedly sent to OpenAI founder Sam Altman, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, and Mark Zuckerberg.
