BNY Mellon partners with Galaxy to launch cryptocurrency staking services.

Galaxy Digital announced today a strategic partnership with BNY Mellon to further advance the development of digital asset infrastructure for the institutional market. The collaboration will support digital asset services including staking — a mechanism that allows eligible digital assets to earn reward income. The two firms will integrate digital asset custody and staking services into a unified institutional-level service model. By combining BNY Mellon’s digital asset custody platform with Galaxy’s expertise in proof-of-stake (PoS) networks, the pair aims to deliver clients an integrated, institutional-grade staking participation experience, enabling institutional clients to engage in staking activities via secure, streamlined processes. Beyond staking services, Galaxy will also serve as a design partner to further refine the infrastructure of BNY Mellon’s digital asset platform. BNY Mellon’s upcoming staking service and related infrastructure upgrade plans remain subject to regulatory review.
