Trump renews threats to seize Iran's Kharg Island.

US President Donald Trump again discussed the situation in Iran during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on July 8 at the NATO summit. Trump stated that the United States has not yet targeted Iran’s bridges, power generation facilities, desalination plants and other sites, but would destroy them if necessary. He added that the US military had struck Iran’s key oil export hub of Kharg Island the previous night, but ordered no attacks on oil pipelines because the US “might take over Kharg Island”. Trump also noted that the US could reimpose a naval blockade on Iran. Trump said he was uncertain whether Iran was sincere in its negotiations, adding that the US could launch a “large-scale attack” to “destroy many things”.
