Top Glove Executive Arrested in Japan for Falsifying Address Report

TOKYO, June 22 (Kyodo) — Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested three men, including an alleged senior figure of the Cambodia-based multinational telecom fraud organization Prince Group, on charges of falsifying electronic notarization records and submitting false residence reports. The key suspect, identified by law enforcement as Hu Shi (phonetic translation), is a 44-year-old Chinese-born individual who holds Cypriot citizenship and multiple nationalities, using aliases including “Chen Xiaoer.” He was arrested on June 14. Earlier, the British government imposed sanctions on Hu Xiaowei, a long-term collaborator of Prince Group founder Chen Zhi, on March 26. The pair’s relationship dates back to the era of private servers for the game *The Legend of Mir*, and they later co-founded multiple companies in China and other countries. Both the United States and the United Kingdom have designated Prince Group as the largest criminal organization in Asia and have imposed economic sanctions on it. Chen Zhi, Prince Group’s founder, is from Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Born and raised in a fishing village, he dropped out of junior high school, began his career as a hacker, moved to Cambodia in 2011, obtained Cambodian citizenship in 2014, and established Prince Group in 2015. Under his leadership, the group grew into one of the world’s largest dedicated online fraud networks, with an estimated net worth of billions of U.S. dollars. In October 2025, the U.S. and U.K. announced indictments against Chen Zhi and seized approximately $15 billion in Bitcoin. In January 2026, Chen Zhi was stripped of his Cambodian citizenship and extradited back to China for investigation.

Trump's "Verbal Pressure" to Suppress Oil Prices, Market Warns Supply-Demand Gap Could Push Oil to $135

June 22 – A top U.S. energy trader is warning that even as the Trump administration sends out soothing signals, political rhetoric is failing to mask a looming global oil supply gap of 6 to 8 million barrels per day. If inventory draws keep up, oil prices could surge sharply, possibly jumping to $135 a barrel. Energy trader Dan Dicker, who brings 25 years of trading experience to the table, points out that President Trump regularly shapes market expectations with public statements, keeping oil prices from accurately reflecting the true supply-demand imbalance right now. He says current prices are driven more by emotion and policy signals rather than underlying fundamentals. Ever since the U.S.-Iran conflict heated up and disrupted shipping flows through the Strait of Hormuz, global oil supplies have been shaken, leaving the market relying heavily on drawing down inventories. Dicker noted that if supply recovery falls short of projections, the market could face major repercussions. D

Short-selling firm Muddy Waters Research Founder: AI May Trigger Widespread Unemployment Shock in Stock Market, Prompting Universal Basic Income

On June 22, Carson Block, founder of short-selling firm Muddy Waters Capital, warned that artificial intelligence (AI) could spark massive losses in U.S. knowledge-based jobs over the next several years—rippling through the stock market and even pushing for the adoption of Universal Basic Income (UBI). In a podcast, Block noted that roughly 15% of U.S. knowledge-based jobs could be automated by AI over the coming years, spanning sectors like tech, law, and finance and impacting some 15 million roles. He explained that AI is cutting demand for labor in traditional knowledge work, such as the massive volume of document and information organization tasks common in the legal field. He added that unlike the job rebound following the 2008 financial crisis, AI-driven job displacement will likely trigger irreversible structural shifts, resulting in what he calls a “steady decline in roles suitable for human workers.” Block also warned that a surge in unemployment could prompt households to

NVIDIA Unveils Vera Rubin Platform: Single-Rack Supercomputer to Deliver 7 Exaflops of AI Horsepower

On June 22, NVIDIA unveiled the Vera Rubin Supercomputing Platform, designed for the scientific and high-performance computing (HPC) sectors. This single-rack system delivers more than 7 exaflops of AI compute power and 5 petaflops of FP64 double-precision performance — a feat NVIDIA hails as bringing TOP500-class supercomputing capability to a single rack. The platform combines Rubin GPUs and Vera CPU architectures with technologies including NVLink-C2C, ConnectX-9 SuperNIC, and BlueField-4 DPUs, to meet the unified computing demands of AI training, scientific simulations, and data-heavy research. NVIDIA noted that Vera Rubin is built to tackle highly complex scientific computing tasks — from climate modeling and computational fluid dynamics to quantum chemistry and energy exploration — supporting an integrated workflow of "AI + Simulation + Data Analytics." For real-world use cases, organizations including the Leibniz Supercomputing Center, the U.S. Department of Energy’s National

Benchmark Maintains Strategy Target Price at $570, States STRC is Not a 'Stablecoin'

On June 22, Benchmark Equity Research reaffirmed its "Buy" rating on MicroStrategy (MSTR) and maintained its $570 price target, implying more than 400% upside from the stock’s current trading level. The firm noted that despite a recent selloff in MicroStrategy’s STRC perpetual preferred stock—during which the security briefly dipped below $83—this volatility is a market repricing rather than a structural risk. Benchmark analyst Mark Palmer pointed out that STRC is neither a stablecoin nor a reflexive asset dependent on arbitrage mechanisms to hold its peg. Instead, it is a perpetual preferred stock instrument backed by MicroStrategy’s holdings of over 847,000 bitcoins, valued at roughly $55 billion. The report stated that MicroStrategy’s current strategy is to keep STRC trading around the $100 level, though this is not a binding price commitment or rigid peg. Recent volatility stems more from yield expectation adjustments than a "de-pegging" event, the analysis explained. Benchmark

On June 22nd, healthcare AI startup Prosper AI closed a $30 million Series A funding round, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from investors including Base10 Partners, Emergence Capital, and Y Combinator. The round brings the company’s total capital raised to approximately $36.6 million. Prosper AI developed an AI voice assistant to streamline the full patient visit workflow, covering everything from appointment scheduling and insurance verification to payer communications and billing. To date, its platform has served over 150,000 healthcare providers nationwide. The firm points out that the U.S. healthcare system wastes more than $450 billion annually due to administrative inefficiencies. Prosper AI’s AI system centralizes key processes from appointments to payments on a single platform, reducing the costs providers incur when switching between disparate tools. Since its previous funding round last September, Prosper AI has seen revenue grow roughly fivefold and
