April 30 — A U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) statement confirms an international joint operation led by Dubai Police dismantled at least nine cryptocurrency scam centers last week, netting 276 arrests.
The operation involved the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), China’s Ministry of Public Security, and the Royal Thai Police (which made an additional arrest). Six individuals face federal fraud and money laundering charges; if convicted, each count carries a maximum 20-year prison term and significant fines.
Earlier this month, the FBI reported Americans’ losses to cryptocurrency and AI-related scams will exceed $11 billion by 2025. Separately, European law enforcement shut down three scam centers in Albania and arrested 10 people. The network, which employed roughly 450 individuals, is estimated to have defrauded global victims of more than $58 million.

April 30 — Per LookOnChain data, a mysterious crypto whale has been accumulating HYPE daily over the past two months.
Since March 1, the whale has withdrawn 472,770 HYPE (valued at $18.96M at the time) from exchanges Bybit and Kraken, at an average cost of $38 per token.
The whale’s unrealized profits now exceed $1 million.

April 30 — Per HyperInsight monitoring (via its Telegram channel @HyperInsight), a whale with the full address 0x66f463866512fc337c89bad2032acbe38ee38836 executed a 20x leveraged ETH short position on Hyperliquid in the past hour.
The position totals 14,500 ETH (equivalent to ~$32.5 million) with an average entry price of $2,272. Over the last 20 minutes, the market saw a short-term decline — and the whale’s entry landed exactly at the intraday rebound high, putting the trade in immediate profit.
Within the first hour of opening the position, the whale’s floating profit exceeded $500,000. This is being cited as the most accurate top short of the current on-chain rebound cycle.

April 30th — On-chain data from HyperInsight Monitoring shows the largest ETH long position holder, the “BIT-linked Whale,” spread funds across three addresses this morning and coordinated to increase its positions. As of press time, the holder has accumulated roughly 25,000 ETH (valued at ~$56 million) with an average entry price of ~$2,240.
After this round of accumulation, the three addresses now hold a combined total of over $204 million, with an unrealized loss of ~$2.02 million to date.
These addresses are affiliated with BIT, a digital financial services group, and have repeatedly received transfers from its affiliated entities. Previously, the group built ETH long positions worth hundreds of millions of dollars, netting over $50 million in profits.
