China's Central Bank Increases Gold Holdings for 17th Consecutive Month

April 7 — The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) reported that China’s gold reserves hit 74.38 million ounces (roughly 2,313.48 metric tons) at the end of March, up 160,000 ounces (about 4.98 tons) from February. At the end of last month, reserves stood at 74.22 million ounces (around 2,308.5 tons), marking the 17th straight month of gold accumulation.
