On January 30, former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he is revoking certification for all Canadian-made Bombardier Global aircraft and all Canadian-manufactured aircraft—citing Canada’s "incorrect, illegal, and willful refusal to certify Gulfstream jets"—until Gulfstream receives full certification, which he noted "should have been done many years ago." He also alleged Canada has barred Gulfstream products from being sold in the country via a similar certification process. Trump added that if these issues are not rectified immediately, he will impose a 50% tariff on all Canadian aircraft entering the U.S.
