Levitt clarified President Trump's previous remarks in a CBS News interview by saying, "President Trump's comments suggested that he has no personal relationship with CZ, and the pardon process went through the most serious consideration. We have a very thorough and serious review process involving the Department of Justice and the White House Legal Counsel's Office." Previously, BlockBeats reported that during an interview with CBS News, when asked why he pardoned CZ, Trump said, "I don't know who he is. I know he was sentenced to something like four months in prison or so. I also heard that this was Biden's political persecution." The host further questioned, saying, "In 2025, Binance facilitated a $20 billion World Liberty Financial stablecoin transaction. Then you pardoned CZ. How do you view the suspicion of this 'pay-to-play' scenario?" Trump replied, "I don't know about what you're saying; I can only tell you this. My sons are very interested in cryptocurrency. I'm glad they are interested because it could be a great industry. I think it's good. You know, they are in business, not in government." World Liberty Financial Corporation denied being involved in this pardon action.
