NBCUniversal and Aptos Labs Partner to Launch Fan Engagement Reward Platform Backlot Club

On October 15th, NBCUniversal and Aptos Labs made an announcement about the joint launch of the brand-new fan interaction reward platform called Backlot Club. This announcement marks a more profound deepening of the strategic cooperation between the two parties. The Backlot platform is constructed based on Aptos' Layer 1 blockchain technology. Its goal is to connect Universal Pictures' global fans by means of digital rewards that are collected from both online and offline activities. The Backlot platform appears to have completed a pilot operation during the 2025 Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. It successfully supported the "on-chain treasure hunt" activity. Users were able to obtain physical and virtual rewards by collecting digital badges. All assets are linked and anchored to the Aptos on-chain assets. This is not the first time that Aptos and NBCUniversal have collaborated. Under a multi-year agreement, the two companies have previously carried out Web3 fan interaction projects centered around films such as "Rainfield" and "The Exorcist: The Believer", expanding blockchain-based games, membership programs, and IP experiences.
