Trump $1M Sale of U.S. Residency

September 20th. On September 19th, President Trump of the US signed an executive order titled "Golden Card", indicating that it will establish a new visa route for "foreign individuals with extraordinary abilities who are willing to support the US": individuals can pay $1 million to the US Department of the Treasury, or have a sponsoring entity pay $2 million, in order to obtain expedited visa processing through this "Golden Card" program. Trump stated on social media that the US immigration system is in urgent need of reform and is expected to generate revenue far exceeding $100 billion through the "Trump Card" initiative. This funding will be used for tax reduction, projects to boost economic growth, and debt repayment. In another post, Trump wrote, "Buy the Trump Card now," and attached a link to a government website. According to the information on the website, upon approval and payment of relevant fees, applicants can obtain the "Trump Card" for $1 million, granting them permanent residency. (Gold10)
