September 19th. Former SEC Chair Gary Gensler stated in an interview with CNBC that he has "no regrets" regarding his tenure as the top regulator of Wall Street. Even though the SEC is rapidly dismantling his policies and the crypto community is "ecstatic" about his departure. Gary Gensler said, "I am extremely proud of what we have achieved. I took an oath of office and led an enforcement agency that was always centered around protecting investors." CNBC noted in the interview that under the leadership of the new chair Paul Atkins, the U.S. crypto industry suddenly witnessed a surge in innovation, leadership, and capital. However, Gary Gensler remained unperturbed and ignored the praise received by his successor. He insisted that, apart from Bitcoin, a large portion of the crypto industry is still in a speculative frenzy, detached from fundamentals and highly speculative. After leaving the SEC in January this year, he returned to MIT to serve as a professor of global economics and management practice, focusing on researching and teaching AI, fintech, and public policy.
