On July 10th, as reported by Bloomberg, the U.S. Treasury Department has officially done away with the cryptocurrency broker reporting rule. This rule initially mandated that decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges report customer transaction information to the U.S. government for tax-related purposes. Previously, U.S. congressional Republicans voted to repeal the rule via the "Congressional Review Act," and it was signed into law by President Trump in April of this year.
