Trump Calls Musk 'Off the Rails,' Criticizes His Party Affiliation

On July 7th, Trump stated on social media: "Witnessing Musk being completely 'derailed' in the past five weeks and basically turning into a runaway train makes me very sad. He even intends to establish a third party. Although this has never been successful in the United States - it seems that the system is not designed for them. The best skill of a third party is to create thorough destruction and chaos." Trump also said that when Musk undoubtedly fully supported me, I asked him if he knew that I would end the electric car authorization, and he said he had no opinion on that - which surprised me. Furthermore, Trump said that Musk also wanted one of his good friends to manage the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). However, I was surprised to find out that he is a noble-born Democrat who had never donated to Republicans before. Trump added that it is inappropriate to have Musk, who has interests in the space industry, choose the leader of NASA. (Golden Finance)

U.S. Commerce Secretary: Tariffs to Take Effect on August 1

July 7th. On Sunday, Trump declared that he has achieved some trade agreements with trading partners and is going to send letters to other countries to inform them that the tariff rates will be raised. The U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick told reporters that the higher tariffs will come into effect on August 1st, but Trump is "currently working on the rates and agreements." In April of this year, Trump announced a 10% basic tariff on most countries and an additional tariff of up to 50%. Although he later postponed the effective date of tariffs for all countries to July 9th (excluding the 10% tariff), Lutnick's remarks suggest a three-week tariff "suspension." The U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant also made similar remarks earlier, stating that countries that do not reach agreements will face tariffs starting from August 1st, but denied that this date is a "new deadline." July 7th. On Sunday, Janet Yellen, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, stated that for those countries that failed to reach a trade agreement with the Trump administration, the tariffs announced in April of this year will be reinstated on August 1st. Yellen said, "President Trump will send a letter to some of our trading partners, indicating that if you do not take action, then on August 1st, your tariffs will return to the level of April 2nd." He further said that on August 1st, the countries that have not reached an agreement will "receive a letter." Yellen refuted the notion that August 1st is another deadline for new tariffs, but the August date can still provide trading partners with more time to renegotiate tariff rates. Yellen said, "What we are stating is that when certain events occur, if you wish to expedite, then do so quickly. If you want to revert to the original tax rate, that is your decision." In April of this year, Trump announced a suspension of high tariffs imposed on most
